My Mood: Happy
As a devoted Burroughs fan I was pretty disappointed with At the Earth's Core. It contained few (if any) of the great beasts which Burroughs populated his novels with (which Frank Frazetta illustrated so well). Equally disappointing was the fact that the movie presented Pelucidar as a large cave instead of the amazing hollow Earth with a miniature sun where the Earth's core was thought to be located.

So, instead of getting this --

-- we got this, with a lavender "cave ceiling" supposedly 40 or 50 miles high (if I'm remembering correctly.

But I must admit the Caroline Munro was nice eye-candy.

I've said this elsewhere, but one of my few complaints (if you can even call it one) is how "restrained" Doug McClure is in it. I mean, I know it isn't a comedy, but you'd think he of all people would latch onto the funny side of it a little more than he does. But never mind, those three actors are really a very good combination.
