For anyone who is a fan of Charlton Heston and/or his films (Ten Commandments, Ben-Hur, El Cid, Planet of the Apes, Naked Jungle, many more) there's a relatively new board, the Charlton Heston Forums, which opened up just this past November. It's strictly all about just Heston and his films.

I found to be, so far, a relaxing place and hostility-free (similar to here); it's small, with just 27 members so far, most of whom joined in the first month.

here's the web location: http://charltonhestonforums.freeforums.org/index.php

You just gotta love Charlton Heston. Fine actor, pro 2nd amendment, old school American ethics. Looking over his film career, even those not noted above, ya gotta respect his body of work, maybe not some roles, but over all ...

Nice Heston dedicated forum. If you are in to Chuck, and all about Chuck, there is a good site to visit. It's even hosted by our old provider freeforums.

One movie I've always liked with him is DIAMOND HEAD, which was a little like a nighttime soap opera about a screwed-up wealthy family, combined with one of those GIANT by Edna Ferber type stories about people shaping a whole state (Hawaii in this case). He played one of those "Me against the world" kind of characters, which he was already good at quite some time before Taylor in PLANET OF THE APES.

Best Charlton Heston films in my not so humble opinon of your Creeper, The President's Lady (1953), The Ten Commandments (1956), Ben Hur (1959), El Cid (1961), Planet of the Apes (1968), The Omega Man (1971), Soylent Green (1973), Midway (1976), Gray Lady Down (1978) and I liked him personally in a lot of other films that sucked but he was in.

Not bad choices, Creeper - I think the quality & caliber of Heston's films overall is undervalued by many. One of my favorites is the less-known The War Lord (1965), a small scale version of the epics that Heston is known for. He plays the title character and gets to kick ass as a highly trained knight, get seriously romantic with a peasant girl and deal with an envious younger brother. What caught my attention when I first watched it many years ago is the realism brought to the medieval period, which before was kind of theatrical in movies.

The Charlton Heston Forums just celebrated its 3rd-year anniversary yesterday. The forum has grown to 82 members but, as is usually the case with these forums, hardly any of the members actually post. The administrator there has stated for the record that Facebook has all but killed these kinds of forums, which rely on a small core of dedicated posters. He celebrated the anniversary by 'upgrading' the banner at the site to give it a new, fresh look... http://charltonhestonforums.freeforums.org/index.php Image
