I am suspecting that we will have some prolific posters out there may want to add a category; ie: Twilight Zone, Dexter, Weeds, Dancing with the Stars, Dr. Who, etc. All interests are welcome, but unfortunately, some of us may not be as on-top of the subject as you are. If this is the case, let us know or start the threads and we will build a better community together.

Happy Posting & have Fun!

I think a Twilight Zone section is definitely in order. Thats how most of us came to know each other anyway, right?

But when it comes to "Dancing With the Stars", I might be more likely to eat three heaping tablespoons of rat poison, than to sit through that. :wtf:

Umm, or post about it anyway. TZ DZ Fan is NOT a DWTS fan.

I have to say, my wife is watching Dancing With The Stars tonight. I happened to see it as I walked by the TV and Marie Osmond looked pretty hot (she's my age).

Ah, Dancing with the Stars. Did ya see poor Marie Osmond faint the other night?! But the good news was that Donny was in the audience and rushed to give her mouth to mouth resucitation.

I don't watch a lot of TV.

But because I'm a dancer... I like dancing with the stars. Lol

Well, you have a TV drama section, how about a comedy/sitcoms board?

You are right bro, there is definitely some eye candy on there. But that doesn't save it from the abyss though.

I'm going to borrow a quote from our boy NYR94. Its doesn't fit exactly here, but its close enough.

NYR94 - "" Compairing Siruis to XM is no comparison at all. Simply print out both playlists and see for yourself--XM has almost twice as many channels as Sirius! The one thing Sirius has that XM doesn't is Howard Stern, though. So if you like to hear lesbians kissing and dropping f-bombs over the radio, Sirius might be the way to go. As for me, I'll take XM over Sirius any day of the week and save the hot lesbian action for my 62" HDTV! ""

Simply put, for TZDZ, if I really want to see eye candy in action, nothing beats good old fashioned porn.

Not only that, but XM also has channel 202, The Virus, where you can hear Opie and Anthony, the best talk radio show... EVER. They not only do rauncy stuff, but they talk about current events, local news stories, politics, movies, TV, awards shows and sometimes tell their own embarassing stories about their recent pasts or childhoods/adolescences. Plus they have Ron and Fez. Ron Bennington is hilarious, often pointing out the stupid, hypocritical and just plain stuff that doesn't make sense in everyday society and they also interview plenty of movie stars, authors and sometimes politicians and journalists.

MrW, What do you think if we link the Scifi.com website here. Also, can we advertise this board there?

Maybe this could be a link to other boards that deal with Scifi/ Fantasy /Horror: from Star Trek, Star Gate, to TZ, to Heroes, LOST, Farscape, Halloween, etc...
Plus all General boards can link here.

The TZWorld.com front page had links to other TZ sites. for example.

I realize you have a section which includes science fiction movies, but it's a little hard to find because it seems to be mixed in with movies of other types.

I kinda wish there was a section dedicated to science fiction movies alone. I understand that MOVIES: Lights, Camera, Action is intended for threads on this subject.

My own board -- All Sci-Fi -- deals exclusively with science fiction. Pushing the Envelope covers a wider range of subjects. I guess between the two of us, we cover it all. But I think your members would appreciate a section which focuses on science fiction.

Just a thought, sir.

I recently sent an email to the members of All Sci-Fi which included this:
___________________________________________________________

It’s been a lively week at All Sci-Fi. We had some very interesting posts, some
very interesting new members, and an interesting connection between us and another wonderful message board called Pushing the Envelope, which shares several familiar faces with All Sci-Fi.

I urge you to visit Pushing the Envelope and join the -- (dare I use that word again?) -- interesting folks there. Here’s the link.

I hope they take the suggestion. :D

There is a section in the Members Only - Movies thread titled "Sci Fi Throughout The Ages", which have movies from 1900-1970s.
Here's the link: viewforum.php?f=108

Hopefully that covers some of what you're looking for Bud.

Good lord yes, sir! After clicking on your link I realized that there are still undiscovered sub-categories of Pushing the Envelope I have yet to discover!

I don't mean to sound critical (and I certainly don't mean to sound dumb) but ever since I created All Sci-Fi I've tried to construct it so it incorporated as few "sub-categories" as possible. I wanted our members (especially our newest members) to understand the "lay of the land" the first time they looked at our Main Index.

I may not have completely succeeded, but I think I've created one of the most "user friendly" boards on the web. We even offer Alphabetical Lists of the movies which already have threads in several of our forums! I don't know of any other board which includes this feature.

With that in mind, Pushing the Envelope might consider simplifying your forums the same way. It took me years to realize that sometimes "less is more".

What do you guys think?

Bud

As one of the founders of this palace, let me say thanks for inviting your group here.

For various reasons,(and real-life issues lol) I haven't been here as often as I like.
Sometimes it just goes like that I suppose.

Anyone on your board is certainly welcome to come here and join.
Sometimes it takes a few days for one of us to "approve" newer members, but its normally done within a few days.
We do that strictly to keep the "unwanted masses" out, and it generally cuts down on spam and trouble makers.

Thanks for finding your way back Bud.

Thanks for the feedback, Bud. Criticism, observational comments, etc are always welcome.

Subforums - IMO - are a better option because things are condensed into a strategic order, similar to a library in most cases. Not that this way is better than anyone else's way, and we have had several changes over our first 5 years. Subforums - again, just my opinion - helps make order out of chaos. Say, for example, you want sci-fi movies, you go to the sci-fi category in movies. You want 50s, 60s, 70s, etc movies - go simply go to that specific decade/subforum of sci fi movies.

Now granted, the general film and TV have no sub forums because they are a collective posting of members and are a general area of that subject. They constantly get shuffled as members post - new discussions to the top, etc. Our board has always been built by its members whom have different tastes and interests. Being PtE is not restricted to "1" specific genre, it may appear disorderly at first glance, but as you have discovered, there are many trees that make the forest and simply calling it a forest doesn't negate the individuality of any specific tree. If one stops to find the Pines, the Oaks, the Maple, etc. they are all here making that forest. Again, as you have discovered, there are always more trees you can find here if one is adventurous enough to trek a little deeper into the woods and off the beaten path.
