I've been meaning to get these and watch them on DVD, the Danger Man/Secret Agent sets. Are they worth getting? I take it these are hour long dramas? Are they all good or are some seasons better than others? And is it true The Prisoner was a continuation of Secret Agent? Or is that speculation that's never been confirmed?

Yes and ...
I depends upon which series/season they are. The original Danger Man 60~61 was only 30 minute episodes. The original pre-Bond spy where he stayed on track and kept his liaisons with the ladies to strictly as the case demands. In the follow-up post-Bond, Secret Agent/Danger Man, they are hour long.

The original series was consistent in its stories. No real clunkers but nothing outstanding to speak of.
The 2nd Series "SA/DM" was same character, John Drake, but uniquely, the hour long format helps this series. A lot less frantic than the 1/2 hour stories. It also brings in the spy-toys element providing a better quality story to action ratio.

Patrick McGoohan absolutely denied that #6 and John Drake were the same person.

But #6 WAS a secret government agent of some kind, based on what we learn about him from the episodes, wasn't he?

Yes, No. 6 was an Operative for the British Secret Service or agency of some similar fashion - never directly specified.
