I started to create this thread many, many months ago.
After talking with Mr.Z one night in the chatroom, we both believed it to be a good idea.
Several things got in the way, and some other issues kept me from starting it but now I think I can be around here enough to keep it running smoothly.

I am also looking to get a TZ fix in, here and there, ;) seeing as I haven't really seen many episodes in quite some time. (many have been 4-5 years or more)

Anyhow, each week, I will choose a TZ episode completely at random.
I will then list it here, and suggest that the members try and take a look at it, if they have time.
Then, we can jot down any notes, in the appropriate threads for discussion.
This will give several of us a chance to go back and review episodes we haven't seen in quite some time.
Between the episodes we have on the board, many of us having the DVDs, and tons of places online, there shouldn't be a shortage of places where we can watch these.

I am starting this on Wednesday Feb. 22nd, so I will let this "week" go straight through to Sunday March 3rd, and then each Sunday I (or either Mr. Z) will choose a new episode.

Of course, you don't HAVE to participate..... and you may miss weeks here or there, but any TZ viewing is never a bad thing, so participate when you can.

This weeks episode choice is ......... "THE FEAR".

I love this idea!! I gotta check if I have The Fear on DVD (I don't think I do). TZ is my favorite show and I still don't own the entire series on DVD/Blu-Ray. Honestly, I thought they'd package the Blu-Ray seasons into one set by now (still holding out for it).

Yeah...... we had bantered back and forth on this idea for a thread for a good while.
I just finally decided to pull the trigger, as I am itching to get a bit of TZ in, and I think this is a great way for me to do it. There will most likely be a bit of participation on the board here also.

I am going to try and do my best at re-inserting the episodes for viewing right into the season threads as we go along.
DrM must have yanked this one down by the way, as it wasn't working the night I started it and then it was gone completely the next day.

As a weird concidence, "The Fear" just happens to be one episode I don't see in my normal spots online. :x

One of us will have it up here soon enough, and I'm looking forward to all of the members new thoughts on the eps as we go along.

Yeppers - after Megavideo was brought up on criminal charges, BBVideo, Videozer, Fancast and others quickly shut down their doors. Hence - no more videos. I've been searching for some other outlets on the web during my precious free moments away from work and family. Hopefully other avenues and outlets - hey CBS/Hulu/etc - will bring these back onto the web for viewing.

Yeah seems like a good idea, as I too haven't watched much TZ and would like to get back into them. I basically have only watched TZ during 4th of July or New Year's marathons, and even that's scattered. This is a nice forum to re-invigorate life with some good ol' Twilight Zone.

Weird...I just watched this last week on Blu-Ray. I know "The Fear" is kind of corny but I love the isolated feeling it creates. And I love the big fingerprints on the car!

As pointed out in the first post in this thread......... It is coming early Sunday. ;)

I guess Sundays are a good day to start the week on, when it comes to this thread.
I have a couple of possibilities of episodes, but I ain't saying nothing yet! :P

For what its worth, someone else asked me about this and said "I hope you won't be picking shite episodes".
Well, I plan on picking and watching all types of episodes, mostly at random. So maybe some will be considered poor in some people eyes, but in other viewers eyes excellent.
I don't see the sense in sticking to only the "universally popular" episodes, lets get to watching all types again I say.

Why don't you use DrM's "AskRod" episode randomizer? (askrod.exe runs on Windows XP, doesn't seem to work with Win7)

Then you won't have to decide yourself and you can't be accused of picking to your own preferences.

You should just have to turn off Aero Effects and set compatible with win XP in the properties.

I could use that I suppose, but I will be keeping track and following this thread anyway. With a randomizer,(or random number generator in general) there is still a problem that many over look.
Once you get a fair way into the total (just say episode #73 out of the possible 156 TZ episodes as a pure example) , somewhere along the lines you begin to see alot of repeat numbers or in this case episodes you may have already seen.
Nothing wrong with that, but I will more than likely work my way slowly through most if not all of the episodes with no repeats.
I'd rather work my way slowly through pretty much all of them, without seeing "TEAL" or any episode a slew of times along the way.

Granted one could change the setting to eliminate the repeat picks, or simply we could use it, and then use the next choice if an episode came up that was one we had already seen. Its just not necessary I guess.

At this rate, it will be roughly three years until we worked our way through this. Hell, I may not even make it that long. :ROTF:
No biggie either way, and on that note I need to check out this weeks ep still. I should get around to watching "The Trade-Ins" tonight or tomorrow.

I've always liked this episode, a little drawn out for an hour but I have to admit, I've always wondered why didn't Mason and Carter kill Ross?......................Oh wait! :(

Thanks guys. :)

I intend on watching every episode each week, but I know I missed one already.
DrMoreau already knows, but I am dealing with a few personal things, and its cutting down my free time on the board, and elsewhere too.

I can stop on the board here and there, but not typically long enough to write a big review.
I'll try and get around to rewatching this one again this week.

While I am at it.......... at first I was looking to work my way through all the episodes. But after thinking it through, I will try and at least stick to the average and "more popular" episodes.
Certainly not the universally disliked ones.
I'm not looking to stir up any new discussion on "Cavender is Coming". (or any of the other seemingly unpopular episodes)
I personally don't mind, but getting a bunch of people to try and sit through something they dislike , well that isn't what I started this for. I think its best to stick to episodes that others at least want to sit through, or see as watchable.
On a bright note, rewatching these has been good, and I still pick up a few things here and there that I may have missed over the years.

I appreciate you taking this over temporarily DrM.
Not this Sunday, but the following I should be back to normal.

One woman show? What about the 2 Hasbro toys who co-star? :D

It's Saturday, July 21st, and time for our next episode of the week. Having taken a break due to the TZ Marathon on the 4th of July, it's time to pick this back up once again.

Let us return to Season 3 and delve a little deeper into a lonely plot of land on the outskirts of a rustic town where we find out if Lee Marvin is a bad ass or a coward as James Best and Lee Van Cleef profess. Join us now as we accompany Bounty Hunter Conny Miller on a lonely windblown trek out to the cemetery and visit: The Grave

It's Tuesday, July 31st, and time for our next episode of the week.

Let us remain in Season 3 as we pay our respects to the recent passing of R. G. Armstrong. A TZ Alum who appeared briefly but memorably in an episode dealing with and coming face to face with - well - death. So join us, Gladys Cooper, Robert Redford and Mr. Armstrong in ... Nothing in the Dark.

It's Wednesday, November 7th, and it's time to kick this thread in the ass and get it going again.

Let us return to Season 1 - sort of - as we look back at the origins of the Twilight Zone. This is the original pilot for advertisement and enticement purposes to not the viewer - but the marketing/commercial moguls that produced TV. Here we will see an uncomfortable Rod Serling doing his best to pitch this show. For fans, you will know the stories he is trying to sell, perhaps by different names and the pilot definitely had a different narrator. So join us yet again or perhaps the 1st time, where both I and Earl Holliman ask ... Where Is Everybody?.

It's Thursday, November 15th, and it's time again to review yet another episode.

Let us return to Season 2 and join Franchot Tone, Liam Sullivan and Jonathan Harris in a tale that still holds relevance today. How do the matured elite feel about the young up-in-comers that are growing around them. Although Men's Clubs have faded from social conscious, the story revolves more around how to get the young pups to StFU. So join us now as we examine the age old question whether money actually talks or if what truly is golden is simply ... The Silence.

At the very beginning, it isn't so hard to sympathize with Franchot Tone's character, and it isn't just for those "Old Money vs. New Money" reasons, it's because he really can't stand that endless talking. But when he gives poor Liam Sullivan that dressing down in front of everyone, and Sullivan gives that really hurt look, things are reversed. In a funny way, Tone has ALREADY gotten even with him for all that talking, just by putting that look on his face!

I've said this on other sites, but one of the big attractions of this episode is seeing Jonathan Harris - Dr. Smith himself - play the "voice of reason" kind of character. He's not only more sensible than Tone, he's more sensible than Sullivan too.

It's Thursday, November 22nd - Thanksgiving - and it's time again to review yet another episode.

Let us return now to Season 3. Being Thanksgiving, we need a show about family in a Norman Rockwell setting to befit the moment. Alas ... no such moment moment exists in the truest sense. However, we do have a lot of family themed episodes that fit our criteria. So, keeping with the season and the day, we step back to a family in need of someone to complete their unit. A care giver, a teacher, a playmate, a nurturer ... a grandma.

Our Cast: David White, Josephine Hutchinson, Dana Dillaway, Veronica Cartwright, Charles Herbert and Vaughn Taylor

Episode of the Week: I Sing the Body Electric.

It's Saturday, December 1st and it's time again to review yet another episode.

Let us return now to Season 5. We return you now to the height of Paranoia where the world was in a cat and mouse cold war. The communist block vs. the decadent capitalist west. We will meet both cat and mouse in the story, Major Ivan Kuchenko and Commissar Vassiloff - a KGB would be Defector and the assassin engaged to prevent this from happening.

Our Cast: Martin Landau and John Van Dreelen

Episode of the Week: The Jeopardy Room.
