Better than average
the Purple testiment
the last flight
escape Clause
A world of difference
Shadow Play
A game of Pool
The after hours

TZ 2nd series:
The Convict piano
I of Newton {This was a Sherman Hemsley episode}
The Mis-fortune cookie
A little peace and Quiet
Dreams for sale
Nightcrawlers
The Once and Future king
Button Button
Shelter Skelter
Cold reading

flawed:
*A Quality of Mercy- a silly premise of showing Mercy to the WORLD WAR II JApanese military-it would have been much better if instead of becoing a Jap soldier the gung ho Lt suddendly finds Like in "The Purple Testiment" he can "See" who going to survice or not...that would have made a better begining...of course with the same ending as testiment :?
*Long Live Walter jameson--flaws are that jameson-claims he's both tired of living and yet afriad of dying...although he isnt tired of seducing women and leaving them when they get old...likewise his fininace isnt too conceren over the fact that he is ageless while she will age...or that he just dissolves in front of her eyes... :P :twisted:
.*The after Hours- and A Game of Pool bad remakes of classic episodes

When it comes to the second version, I don't know most of the ones you mention very well, but I definitely agree about A LITTLE PIECE AND QUIET and DREAMS FOR SALE.

Even if I don't know it too well, I definitely liked I OF NEWTON. Partly for Hemsley and of course partly for Ron Glass as a comical devil. (It's like a very short "BEDAZZLED" variation.)

Other better than average:
The Fever
The Mighty Casey
King 9 will not return
A World of difference

Creepy-like something out of Two Fisted Tales comic book
Living Doll

Really flawed:
The 7th is made up of phantoms {Note Greg Morris of Mission Impossible has a cameo role as a officer!}

The Problum with the Twilight Zone was that it was on for too long-it passed the 3 season stage:
Season 1 - interesting concepts/ideas {Somestimes}
Season 2 - conecepts get familiar
Season 3- concepts get predicable
Anyhing after that-they just rehash old story ideas-or get over preachey-or like MASH go from Black comedy satire to self righeous blatther--they should have stopped in the 4th season instead of renewing it over and over for 7 more seasons;
another example is "The Simpsons" 1st season funny; after the 3rd season it go downright boring to watch until the only good ones were the Hallloween specials-and even they went from bring well done/funny to dopey and nothing to look forward to except same old story lines-maybe that why really good and entertaing TV shows {such as The Night stalker} and Cartoons get canceled after the 1st or 2nd and 3rd seasons--an exception is Star Trek-it ended in its 3rd season-but its got so many spinoffs and movies I just cannot watch them at all :bell:

Interesting opinion noman. Definitely agree with you on some points, though I find some episodes redeemable as they go further than your "3-season" benchmark. I think some story lines can get rehashed but if brought from a different perspective or executed in a different style, then it can bring a refresher to an old story. I also don't consider The Twilight Zone as having "7 more seasons" on top of the first 3; for me I separate it into generational entities. I can see your line of thinking though - where Star Trek had spinoffs, Twilight Zone did not technically have spinoffs, but essentially the original series was 5 seasons long, then it made a comeback nearly 20 years later for 3 more seasons, and then another 20 years or so for a single season - all under the umbrella of The Twilight Zone, but for me, different incarnations of the show.

I definitely agree that some shows get milked for financial reasons - just to build on its success until it's drained and is just a shell of itself. I don't like when that happens. I prefer shows to go out on top, otherwise they do become stale.

I do overall, but there were definitely a few "slow" episodes in season 4.
Oddly enough, I think there were a few top notch ones tucked in there also.

Generally speaking, I think TZ worked better as the half hour shows though.

There are a few of the hour-longs in season 4 that I have only seen one or two times also.
In fact its been ages since I saw any of those,.......
Might be time to sneak a few episodes in. :dance:

I am glad you do like them. I like all of them.
I love the concept of Horace Ford, yet will admit they looped it too many times, this would have worked better as a half hour episode. Amazingly, none of the hour longs rest in my lower fraction; yet, I will contend some are slow.

Perhaps, some of these said episodes would have performed better at half an hour in length.

Please let us know how the HOUR LONGS fared on reviewing, Mr. TZ DZ. TY.

I enjoyed Season 4 but not as much as other seasons. I will say I have a handful of episodes from that season at the top (rating of 8 or better) and a handful at the bottom (4 or less).

Same top episodes for me plus The Thirty-Fathom Grave (8 rating for me).

Forgot about 30 Fathom Grave - another fine example of season 4.
