Man, I can so relate to Jonas in this episode. My wife is a regular Mrs. Doolittle too. Good to see Audra in something other than Mrs. Roper.

8!

Here's how the story appeared in its original comic-book presentation (note that the host is "The Old Witch" - not the Crypt-Keeper - as the TV series drew its story material from a variety of comic-books, such as TALES FROM THE CRYPT, VAULT OF HORROR, THE HAUNT OF FEAR, CRIME SUSPENSTORIES and SHOCK SUSPENSTORIES) . . .

This is the opening page (of a 7-page story) with artwork by Graham 'Ghastly' Ingels, written by Al Feldstein (who went on to successfully edit MAD magazine (after the title's creator Harvey Kurtzman parted company with EC ("Entertaining Comics") . . .Image

A comedic '8' to end the short first season. M. Emmet Walsh had me rolling with his demeanor, facial expressions, etc. Upon watching the Masters of Horror season 2 episode 'Family' with George Wendt, I often thought of this episode simply because of the comedic aspect in the horror genre, and well, Wendt was trying to complete his own collection.
I agree, Dr. M., good to see Audra Lindley outside of being Mrs. Roper.

This episode is hysterical....and kind of f@%ked up, like demented.
