This could be an interesting insight into others here.(not to mention a quick way to get ideas about another show to check out- seeing as most of us have similar tastes)

Aside from a general "recommendation" thread about one show, it might be easier to get a general feel for what others here on the board are watching, at any given time.
Sure, we all have our favorite shows, but in the last few months, I have tried to find a few, and watch them fairly regularly, when I am not playing poker or doing something else.

**Note** this could be anything from a mini-series...regular show - new or old/classic. It could be fewer than 5, but lets keep it to no more than 5, to make it easy.
I know some members like Lazyboy seems to have many shows going at once though.

Simple, what 5 shows are you currently watching?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For me, its.....

1- Fringe - Many thanks to whitsbrain on this one. Sometimes I lose patience with shows like this, but its keeping just enough underlying storyline+arc going, to keep me hooked. Its now between seasons for a brief stint, but we can comment on that in the appropriate thread. :)

2- Babylon 5 - Thanks on this one for MrRSerling. A precursor to the new BSG was a fair description. I'm in S2, and its gotten better than the 1st season.

3- Survivors - This is perhaps my favorite show I am watching currently. For those of us that don't get BBC America, DrM is kind enough to post it here on the board for us, in the PTE Members Only section. (Select episodes of Fringe are there also btw) ---> survivors-2009-bbc-series-f90.html
UGH- Season 2 just ended. :( Hopefully DrM will have the final episode up here in the next couple days for us to see it.

4- The Biggest Loser - I know this doesn't appeal to most here, but it fits this post, as its one of the few shows I watch. As someone who used to work out regularly, its interesting to me from that aspect. Currently on hiatus during the Olympics. :x

5- Nowhere Man - This is a bit different for me than the others. I typically put something on as I go to sleep, and I go through cycles. Sometimes its TZ, sometimes its something else such as Nowhere Man, or Harsh Realm. It just happens to be Nowhere Man currently.

Thanks in part to sites like Youtube.com and Hulu.com, and of course PTE :D I am watching TZ, again and TOL ( I do own the tz dvd set, just lazy to pull thm out lol).

Other shows:

1. Buck Roger ( Gil Gerard series )
2. The Hulk ( Bill Bixby/ Lou F.)
3. Scrubs ( the medical sitcom), speaking of which, do we have a sitcom thread? I forget.
4. I watched the talk shows ( like Conan, and Letterman and Leno, until that fiasco happened, will go back to watch some of them)
5. House ( medical drama)
6. Supernatural ( only seen a few episodes, sadly)

Sorry went over 5

Thanks for your recomendations, sir.

I've not really had much chance to get back to my shows due to my personal circumstances but...

1. Survivors (just finished). Not as good as the original in my eyes but not bad. A few things don't add up but I'll put that in the relevant thread under a spoiler tag.
2. Star Trek Voyager. Some people hate it, I love it. It was on during a happy time in my life and was on when things were bad and acted as a release for me. Got a lot of episodes to go through, only on something like episode 12 of season 1!
3. Wild at Heart. Not really my cup of tea but not bad BBC drama.

Sadly, that's it right now. I'm waiting for Dr Who to start again at the beginning of April and gutted I missed the start of Caprica. :(

X-Files - I never saw anything past Season 5, so I started over watching on DVD at Season 1 and am now up to mid-Season 5. It's a very good series. The story-arc is rather muddled, though.
Babylon 5 - A friend insisted I watch this so he gave me his Season 1 DVDs. I haven't begun to watch it yet.

The Saint with Roger Moore. I am currently watching season 1.

C/O Segemyhr {Care of Segemyhr}. Its a Swedish sitcom. I find it quite funny. I don`t need any Norwegian subtitles, since Swedish is mutually intelligible in written and spoken forms. So is Danish, but it is a bit harder to understand since they sound like they have a potato stuck in their throat.

Senkveld {Late night}. Its a Norwegian chat show.

Criminal Minds.

Having little time to watch T.V. as of late - I still try to catch a few of my favorites:

1) Survivors - BBC: Just a damn fine show.
2) Dr Who - when it comes around. Looking forward to the new season and new Doctor. Hopefully he's not as big of a goober as he comes off as.
3) Ghost Whisperer: Yeah - my wife has got me sucked in. A little soap opera that never concludes and they move on to their next season without resolve. A lot of suspended belief but it's all about family bonding.
4) Bones: I don't know what it is, but I like this show. Another family bonding show.
5) True Blood / Dexter / Spartacus - HBO and Showtime Cable Shows. Spartacus is a little "300" visually heavy but I enjoy the old school gladiator stuff. True Blood and Dexter are just must sees and more family bonding fun time.

It took alot of time for me to get into this series, yet there were some fine episodes, imho. Its not my favorite of ST, yet it was fine while it lasted.

1. Fringe (Blu-ray Season 1)
2. Lost (final season)
3. Nip/Tuck (final season, ends next week)
4. Six Feet Under (DVD - up to Season 3) - We've seen the entire series already, but it's been about 5 years, so wife and I are revisiting the Fishers.
5. Winter Olympics (enjoyed what I've watched, but can't wait for it to end)

I also watch Dexter, True Blood, Entourage, but those shows are currently off-air - will return later this year. I will also return to Flashforward and V when they return in March. I think Parenthood may be on the list ("family bonding" time).

Love Roger Moore and have never seen his series The Saint nor was I aware it was on DVD! Is it readily available and is it worthwhile?!

Ok, my 5 shows:

Gotta love "24"! It kicks ass week after week! Love it....
The Good Wife is an excellent show with the lovely to stare at Julianna Margulies
The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack (on Cartoon Network)--sick and funny show along the line of Ren & Stimpy, perhaps funnier and odder though!
Two & a Half Men too damn funny.....
Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew on VH1 that show is addictive! Talk about addiction and this season they had such a lame bunch of total d-listers I thought it would be boring, but I was wrong! This week it turns into Sober House where they go live at this facility and try to work and stay sober and live at Sober House. It is like a peeping tom show...check it out!

oh! and I too wanna check out Parenthood as it has the lovely Gilmore Girl Lauren Graham....

Yes, i think it was good. Roger sure does love to raise his eyebrows. Next time i watch it, i will try to count how many times he does it. That could be fun. I have the British Network dvds, which are the best sets out there in terms of picture and audio quality + extras.

I watched the first episode of 'Parenthood' -- it was ok. I actually forgot all about the show this week so I missed the second episode. I'm a fan of Peter Krause from 'Six Feet Under' and 'DirtySexyMoney', which was why I wanted to check it out. It's obviously a very different genre than those other shows. For your eye candy, you get Monica Potter, Lauren Graham, and Erika Christensen -- not too bad.

My shows are ever-changing. Nip/Tuck has ended, Winter Olympics have ended. Still going strong with Fringe (S1) though I'm on the final 4 episodes so that too will end (until S2, which is in-season now, hits DVD/BluRay). Still on with Lost. Still on with 6ftUnder but not watching it at an active pace. V and Flashforward will be added, so that brings it back to 5.

DVDs - I've been watching the original Transformers cartoon (the one I watched in the 80s as a kid), and The David Lynch collection (watched Eraserhead and the Short Films collection; I've got The Elephant Man, Wild at Heart, Dumbland, plus bonus material).

And, Celebrity Rehab has now morfed into Sober House FYI still on VH1...this continues the exploits of the rehabers living in a house where they are held accountable, but are now in the world...so to speak....

Well all the 'regular season' shows are finished. Summer brings around a different lot. As of now, TV is minimal; I'm only watching 'Happy Town' on ABC (Wednesday nights). It's not bad -- almost a modern version of 'Twin Peaks' though not as creative or intelligent. 'True Blood' and 'Entourage' return soon, but I may hold out towards the end of summer and just watch the whole lot On Demand at my leisure. It gets tough waiting each week for the next episode. My cousin (who is a member of this board though never posts - jcrm316) brought to my attention a new "miniseries" for the summer (13 episodes according to epguides.com) being aired Monday nights at 10pm on NBC called 'Persons Unknown'. I don't know about it being very original, but it definitely sounds interesting. Plus it's created by Christopher McQuarrie who wrote one of my all-time favorite movies 'The Usual Suspects'. Gotta say, I'm pretty excited for it.

Back to one of my favorite threads........... (it has alot of solid recommendations from all of us)

At the current, many of my obsessions are in a downtime, but I have a couple of new things I am getting a kick out of.

As I mentioned in the "Guilty Pleasure TV" thread-
Masterchef Australia
Losing it with Jillian Michaels (theres only been one episode)

And one that might have a bit more appeal here-
ANDROMEDA

I was in a poker game last night with fellow board members "Malarcanus" and "alsunday", and I received a groan or two when I mentioned "Andromeda".
I don't quite know what to make of this show, but it appears to have potential.
I believe I have been through about 7-8 episodes, and its fair, but I would like it to pick up a bit.

Maybe its tough for me to get gung-ho about any sci-fi stuff anymore. Perhaps I have always had such high standards stemming from TZ and OL, even BSG was strong.
It might be hard to live up to anything like those until another sparkler appears.

Speaking of that, I don't think we have an "Andromeda" thread here, and seeing as its a Gene Roddenberry brainchild, I would have thought otherwise.

Nice wrap up! It ended as I thought it would - which, unlike Lost - was appropriate and well thought out.

You started 'The Incredible Hulk' with Bill Bixby? Sweet! I have the complete collection, but I haven't cracked it yet. If you decide to start posting about each episode, I may have to open it and start watching with you.

I could not get past the first five minutes., It sits on my netflix que with cobwebs now Im sure

Really? That sucks. So what're you watching now?

I totally agree. Whether they had that in mind from the start is debatable but everything tied up brilliantly. I wept about the Quattro though ;)

Finished Survivors. I'll put Yankees baseball as a 5th "show" in light of Creeper's listing of Braves baseball.

good call.

The Dodgers are still livin' up to their NY nickname - Dem Bums - even with Joe Torre @ the helm.

They played well today. A nice 1-0 shutout from Clayton Kershaw. Always nice to have a young southpaw on the squad.

Let's see...currently wading my way through:

Amazing Stories - Most of these are light and fluffy stories, but I am enjoying the first half of Season One. Both Seasons are available via Netflix streaming for the next month or so.
X-Files Season 6
'80s TZ - Trying to figure out if I was fair to the episodes the first time I watched them all.
Babylon 5 - A friend loaned me Season One. I just started watching it because he said J. Michael Strzyski (spelling?) was the creator. But it looks like another soap opera in space so far. I like anthologies...

That's really it. Of course, I am looking forward to seeing the original TZ on Blu-Ray in a couple of weeks!

I've become hooked on Boomerang, so that means almost endless Hanna-Barbera :
1. Top Cat
2. Banana Splits
3. A lot of those "meddling kids" cartoon shows, especially the one with the big talking dog whose title always escapes me.
4. The Pink Panther (not a HB show, of course)
5. MST3K episodes on YouTube.

Aw Hell yeah!!! Jonny Quest! Actually, I've got to finish watching all of the DVDs. I think there are a few that I haven't seen yet. Thanks for the reminder!

Yes, I've always liked Jonny Quest, but in a more casual way than a lot of you.
