Endowed with this technology and ability, he is able to access and detect anything and anyone, but at the expense of taking risks or breaking protocol in order to protect national security, prompting his superior to assign him a Secret Service agent to make sure he does not get out of line, or, for that matter, into enemy hands.

Sleepy Hollow is a "modern-day retelling" of the 1820 short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving.

Image

After Ichabod Crane "dies" during a mission for General George Washington in 1790, he awakens in 2014 Sleepy Hollow. But so does the Headless Horseman, whose head Ichabod lopped off before his perceived death. The horseman begins his nightly killing spree, and Ichabod must partner with newly appointed Sheriff Abbie Mills.

Abbie is made the new sheriff after the horseman killed the previous sheriff upon awakening. While hunting the Horseman, Abbie looks into the old case files her old partner (the former sheriff) was investigating and learns of two types of occult groups -- one for good, the other evil -- which may have summoned the horseman again. If the horseman is not stopped, dark supernatural forces will affect the Earth. This becomes more difficult as the Horseman discovers modern weaponry, which he assimilates into his ritualistic hunt. Ichabod must also adjust to the societal and technological differences of the 21st century.

As Abbie is both African American and a woman, Crane's world view from 18th century Colonial America may cause some friction with her, and also the people he must now work with. Given the fact that he is, and states he is from, the time of the American Revolution, local law enforcement see him as a madman but reliable in hunting the horseman.

Marvel's Agents S. H. I. E.L.D. , or simply Agents of S. H. I. E.L.D. , is based on the Marvel Comics organization S. H. I. E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division).

Image

Agent Phil Coulson puts together a small team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to handle strange new cases. Each case will test the team in cooperation and ingenuity as they try to work together figuring out newly emerging superhuman individuals in the world.

Cast

Image

Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson: An agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. who oversees many of the division's field operations.

Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May: An agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. who is an ace pilot and weapons expert.

Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward: An agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. who is a black ops specialist. He is a gruff, asocial manly man in his early 30s who is great at his job but not so great at getting along with his coworkers. Ward has a strong moral foundation and is not without his charm.

Chloe Bennet as Skye: A civilian new recruit and computer hacker, described as "bubbly and goofy" but "also warm, edgy and witty." She is in her late 20s and can more than hold her own in any situation. Skye is obsessed with superheroes.

Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz: An agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. who specializes in weapons technology.

Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons: An agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. who specializes in life sciences (both human and alien) and is the close partner of Agent Leo Fitz.

Former Whedon collaborator J. August Richards was cast in an unspecified role in the pilot. When asked if Richards' role would be one familiar to the comics, executive producer Jeffery Bell said, "You know, not necessarily. I mean, we’re going to draw from [the comics], but Marvel has its thing, and we’re also going to be expanding forward, and this world is different since The Avengers. So I think there will be people showing up, some from the Marvel Universe and some not." Buffy the Vampire Slayer actor Nicholas Brendon, another Whedon collaborator, was also reportedly considered for Richards' role.

Cobie Smulders reprises her role as Maria Hill in the pilot after her appearance in The Avengers. Joss Whedon stated: "I wanted very much to have Cobie in the pilot because as much as anyone else, she IS S.H.I.E.L.D. She's cool and commanding, and has the dry humor that plays so well with Clark's."

Firefly and Serenity actor Ron Glass also appears. David Conrad and Ian Hart have been cast in unnamed, recurring roles.

A spin-off from The Vampire Diaries and set in New Orleans, The Originals centers on the Mikaelson siblings, otherwise known as the world's original vampires: Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah.

Image

It was revealed during the backdoor pilot, aired on April 25, 2013, that recurring character Hayley is pregnant with Klaus' child. Now Klaus must take down his protégé, Marcel, who is now in charge of New Orleans, in order to re-take his city, as he originally built New Orleans. Klaus departed from the city after being chased down by his father Mikael, while it was being constructed and Marcel took charge. As Klaus has returned after many years, his ego has provoked him to become the king of the city. "Every King needs an heir" says Klaus, accepting the unborn child. The child is a first to be born to a hybrid (part vampire, part werewolf) and a werewolf.

The original The Tomorrow People was a British children's science fiction television series, devised by Roger Price. Produced by Thames Television for the ITV Network, the series first ran between 1973 and 1979. The series was re-imagined in 1992, Roger Price acting as executive producer. A third incarnation, running between 2001 and 2007, returned to the original concept and characters, but this time produced as a series of audio plays for Big Finish Productions.

Image

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland is based around the Lewis Carroll fairytale classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland but with a different twist from the other adaptations and takes place in the same universe as Once Upon a Time in present-day Wonderland, with flashbacks to pre-Curse Wonderland. As such, it is expected to follow the same setting as the parent series, including the use of Disney and Lost related allusions. In addition, the series will have crossover episodes with Once Upon a Time that will also involve a connection with the characters that are trapped in Storybrooke, Maine.

Image

In Victorian London, the young and beautiful Alice tells a tale of a strange new land that exists on the other side of a rabbit hole. An invisible cat, a hookah-smoking caterpillar and playing cards that talk are just some of the fantastic things she's seen during this impossible adventure. Surely this girl must be insane. Her doctors aim to cure her with a treatment that will make her forget everything. Alice seems ready to put it all behind her — especially the painful memory of the genie she fell in love with and lost forever, the handsome and mysterious Cyrus — but deep down she knows this world is real and just in the nick of time, the sardonic Knave of Hearts and the irrepressible White Rabbit save her from a doomed fate.

The Thursday showing of The Originals may either be a repeat from earlier in the week or it might be a new episode. No info either way is given.

While not a genre, The Crazy Ones might be fun because it stars Robin Williams (in his first regular television series role since Mork & Mindy) and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Image

Set in Chicago, the series follows the lives of the people who work for the Roberts & Roberts advertising agency, headed by Simon Roberts, a successful, yet unpredictable genius, and his daughter Sydney Roberts, who is more reasonable and determined to make a name for herself. Despite being polar opposites, the twosome have managed to use unusual ways to win or keep clients, even if the people who they work with think they're crazy to pull it off, especially if it's from their boss, Simon.

Cast

Sarah Michelle Gellar as Sydney Roberts
James Wolk as Zach Cropper
Amanda Setton as Lauren Slotsky

Dracula comes to London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to the Victorian society. In reality, Dracula seeks revenge on those who betrayed him centuries earlier. As Dracula's plans move toward fruition, he falls hopelessly in love with a woman who may be a reincarnation of his deceased wife.

Crossbones is based on the book The Republic of Pirates by Colin Woodard. The series is a fictionalization of the life of the notorious pirate Edward "Blackbeard" Teach in and around the island of New Providence in The Bahamas. The show was created by Neil Cross, creator of the British television series Luther, and whose television writing credits include Spooks and Doctor Who.

Excellent thread Butch.
In years past I had a couple of vaguely similar threads, but not nearly as comprehensive as this one.

Some of the ones I am interested in are :
INTELLIGENCE (could be hit or miss in my opinion, generally I am not high on most major network shows such as this)
ALMOST HUMAN (again, could be hit or miss)
THE TOMORROW PEOPLE I may check out the British version of this.

I plan on checking out Almost Human (even though the idea has been done a few times before) and The Tomorrow People. If I like Tomorrow People, I might just get the original series on DVD. Hey, did you know Roger Price also produced the children's classic You Can't Do That on Television? He was even interviewed for the documentary DVD on the show. Pretty interesting guy.

Check this out... I found it the other night on youtube.

It starts off a little hokey, but it quickly picks up the pace.
I also see that there are some of the same people involved in this project that also worked on FRINGE.

I am definitely more interested in this one now.

Me too TZ DZ. And I really like what I've seen of the new Tomorrow People so far. It's about a group of young people with the powers of telekinesis, teleportation and telepathy, which they call the 3 Ts. The plot involves something about trying to find the main character's father to try to bring an end to this organization that wants to rid the world of people with these powers, like him and his friends. Kind of seems like a better version of the show Heroes, which got a little crazy with all the subplots towards the last season.

Am I the only one who thinks of the song Tomorrow People by Ziggy Marley when that TV show comes on?

I watched the first episode, and I wasn't too enthused to be honest.

I haven't went back and watched any more, but I will likely do so.

The premiere date of "Almost Human" has been pushed back to Sunday the 17th.
Its actually going to be a 2 night premiere, with an episode on the 17th and then another immediately the next night on the 18th.
The word is, it will premiere right after a football doubleheader on the 17th.
FOX has done this in the past with other shows, to help pump up the ratings on a select few new shows they have high hopes for.

I'll probably give "The Tomorrow People" another chance, but the one I am really looking forward to is "Almost Human".
As soon as I learned that some of the creative forces behind "FRINGE" were involved with this project (Almost Human), I knew I would give it a chance.

I'm gonna check that out too. I like the lead plus the Fringe connection adds to the allure.

If you want, you could check out the original Tomorrow People from the '70s. They're all on DVD now, so they should be online somewhere too, maybe someone here could post the pilot? Maybe you'll like the original version better. Almost Human I'm interested in, because it kind of reminds me of Robocop and has one of the actors from the cancelled USA series Common Law.

You guys should check out James Spader in the "Blacklist" on NBC. I think its the best show to come out this year.

Also Brooklyn 99 with Andy Sandberg is better than I anticipated, reminds me The Office which I used to watch. If anyone watches any of these shows would love to get your feedback.

I am not much into comedy so I don't know about the latter you referred to, but I have heard many good things about "The Blacklist".

I heard 3-4 people in a poker game the other night talk about it, and every single one had high praise for it.
Might just have to give it a shot at some point soon.

I am catching up on Sleepy Hollow On Demand -- I am enjoying it thus far. Creators of this show also created Fringe, so you know the writing is going to be pretty good. I like this storyline and the cast, so I will definitely continue with this one.

Just a quick bump, on ALMOST HUMAN.

This is starting this coming Sunday, (2 night premiere btw) and I am a bit anxious to get started on it.

My recent tv viewing is lacking a bit of good sci-fi lately, and its sorely missed.

Damn I need a good space opera too. :(
I'm still missing BSG.

Just looking for opinions on "Almost Human" if any of you cats have seen it.

I have seen the first 2 episodes, though I won't be catching this weeks episode until later on this evening.
Its been surprisingly good in my opinion, and I can definitely see some "Fringe"-ish overtones.

I don't tend to go for most pilots, or at least they are traditionally "so-so" for me, but this one I didn't mind.

Its not going to replace the space opera void in my life, but this one is shaping up to be pretty decent and worth a look if you are looking for a new sci-fi show to give a try.

Yes, I am enjoying thus far. I really like the interaction between Micahel Ealy and Karl Urban. They have a nice rapport with each other right off the bat. The banter is funny. I also see the Fringe-like overtones, which makes it a fun watch. This is definitely one I will continue to watch.
