Has a great cast in Tim Curry and Jennifer Grey....but I have a hard time finding this in stores etc....Not released in the United States until 2006? Wow what was with the 5 year hold up. The Cryptkeeper is in this film for a intro as a dead rasta !!! LOL

I will try and catch this someday....

I haven't seen this one either -- I'll have to add it to my Netfilx queue.

OK - this is basically a remake of the RKO classic, "I Walked With A Zombie!" Not that that is a bad thing, but basically, what made the original a classic was Jacques Tourneur directing and Mark Robson's editing. Classic noir and art mixed together. I loved the camera work, moody sets and visual stimuli. Curt Siodmak co-writing the script didn't hurt either.

This adaptation has kept the basic story, sans the mood, but with added visual titillations. Jennifer Gray - *not to mention Kristen Wilson* - made this a nice eye-candy piece as a substitute for the mood. The story is still the same only color updated and it has the typical TFtC style about it.

As a remake goes, it is pretty fun. Hamlet it ain't, so if you are looking for a best picture contender, don't expect it. As far as a nice update of a classic horror tale, here you go. Not as compelling as the original, but I didn't expect it would be. Still very well done with the added visuals that the original alluded to.

Finally watched it today. This may be my favorite TFTC movie, though I liked Demon Knight, and thought Bordello of Blood was too ridiculous, this was a pretty good story. Good casting, well-moving pace, and interesting story all make for a good horror flick (TFTC-style, of course). They do seem to do voodoo storylines well.
