Usually video games based on movies really suck (E.T., Fester's Quest, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?), but in recent years, it seems game companies and developers have been doing a better job at this. Not that often, mind you, but every now and then a really good one comes out. Here are some good high quality and fun games based on movies that I've played:

1. The Godfather
2. The Warriors
3. Scarface
4. Rocky
5. Rocky Legends

I also liked Dick Tracy for Nintendo, based on the Warren Beatty movie. Hell, it was more fun to play than the movie was to watch IMO. Any others you guys have played? I think there's an X Box game based on the movie The Great Escape also, but I didn't get to play that one, anyone here play it?

Warriors - Can You Dig It! Great Game along with Godfather.

The Great Escape I played on PS2. Pretty fun and challenging. Not as open ended as Godfather or Warriors, more of an advance to the next level game, but all in all a solid 8.

Really. Sounds interesting. Come to think of it, The Sopranos video game was like that, but that, of course was based on a TV series and not a movie, still a fun game though.

All the major characters from the movies and a bunch of other fighters made up just for the game, although I think one of the fighters you face early on is mentioned in the first Rocky movie as a possible Apollo Creed opponent. Rocky Legends is cool because you can play as not only Rocky, but Ivan Drago, Apollo Creed or Clubber Lang and they give them kind of a backstory before and after the first fight and manage to fit in the ending with the stories from the movies.

I guess the key thing is it has to be older or earlier movies to base a video game on. Come to think of it, I like the Reservoir Dogs game too, although that game was more linear and had set missions, but you get to play as just about every character and you get to choose to play as either a "professional", "psychopath" or somehwere in between. There's three different endings to go with each style and when you're done, you can watch cutscenes and endings over again. So you pretty much either shoot enemies or hold them at gunpoint until they either open a door or get down on their knees at which point they're "neutralized". The driving stages were the only parts I didn't like, but I think there's only two of those.

Godfather & Warriors yes. Hell, I even own "The Thing" based on the Carpenter movie. It came with the DVD before it was released to the general public for 2 years.

Great concept - the rescue party arrives to find only Mac's carnage and his messages to guide them.

Wait a minute...."THE THING" VIDEO GAME?!?!? HOLY SHITE!! Sounds pretty awesome....

anyway...Godfather is the shiznit.....I can't wait to play Godfather 2 but it seems that it is rented out everywhere I go (Not ready to buy it yet) but I have heard that nobody came back to voice the characters for the sequel....so that sucks....

Brando in the Godfather .....heard the voice was to shaky and scratchy so they had to dub it over with a similar voice...I couldn't tell the difference honestly.....I love the fact they got R Duvall and others to voice for the game....

Warriors....kicks ass...one of my favorite games....
