Do you, or do you not have a "Dying Fetus" sweatshirt/hoodie?
Somehow I remember this being in the mix somewhere. :o

Yep, I still have a Dying Fetus tour hoodie from 2003. It's one of my favorite shirts, despite the fact that it was a gift from my ex. I still wear it a few times a year when it's cold out.

The back of it reads:

ERASE US ALL

Now that is all great stuff there. I usually either really like your taste in music, or I absolutely hate it. This time I really like it.

I would have thought Bush - Glycerine was a bit too mainstream-ish for you Cyril.

It's not one of the better songs on Sixteen Stone, but as a whole that album is terrific.

Calm the f@%k down, I was referring to the bands he DIDN'T name (as in didn't know) you know? :P

PS - I've been listening to King's X for nearly 20 years. I dig all of their stuff up until they switched over to Metal Blade.

And Weezer has 1.5 good albums. After Pinkerton (their masterwork in my opinion) that band can just die.

In the tradition of observing proper spelling practices, I must admit that I should have been flagged as having failed not passed. I believe the proper spelling of "there" in my post should have been spelled "they're". Please flag this message as Failed so others do not make such a mistake in the future.

I noticed the incorrect spelling as well.
But rather than be a prick,(which I am for the most part) I decided not to point it out.

Actually, I think woodrow was meaning to post the other "failed" image, but accidentally got this one instead.

I can still be a prick though right???

Interesting thread. I'll toss in with my 10 today. My iTunes just went over the 10,000 song mark, but this is from my 'top rated random' playlist in which each song had to be rated at least 4 stars:

Salesman - Stan Ridgway
Image
Capital Radio Two - The Clash
Image
Urgent - Foreigner
Image
Midnight Show - The Killers
Image
Would You Believe? - Roxy Music
Image
Wreck Of The Fairchild - Thomas Dolby

Today Your Love, Tomorrow The World - Ramones

I Want To Kill Something - A House

It Never Rains - Dire Straits

Yea, I knew he would slide in some "Roxy Music", I knew that was one of his faves.
He likes the late 80s alternative stuff. (he used to be a DJ here locally at one of the colleges)

Yes, I LOVE Roxy Music. If I gave a shite about the R&R Hall of Fame, I'd be upset that they're not in. Their excellence when they existed and the influence they had on what came a decade later was huge. Oh well, thank god Madonna is in the 'rock' hall.

I've been into 'alternative' rock just about all my life. From the Velvets & Stooges through glam & punk, new wave, power pop, post-modern, alternative, blah blah. So my lists will lean that way, but I like anything that's good...

Aeroplane Blues - The Blue Aeroplanes (1989)
Image
The Lonely Ones - Chris Issak (1984)
Image
Show Biz Kids - Steely Dan (1973)
Image
Prove It - Television (1977)
Image
Delicious Demon - The Sugarcubes (1987)
Image
Obstacle 1 - Interpol (2002)
Image
Before Too Long - Paul Kelly & The Coloured Girls (1986)
Image
Oh, Candy (Single Version) - Cheap Trick (1976)
Image
Fell In Love With A Girl - The White Stripes (2001)
Image
Collapsing New People - Fad Gadget (1984)

WTF??? :wtf:

The only thing Madonna did that was noteworthy was plant a liplock on Britney Spears back in the day when she was still hot.

I gotta admit, as a teenager growing up in the early 80s, I heard an absolute FLOOD of her shite.
Hey, I might have even actually owned a copy of one of her cassette tapes back then.

Even as a young buck, whenever I heard "Like a Virgin" though, I was like yeah f@%king right.

No shuffle here, just the music video for the Welsh metalcore band Bullet For My Valentine's first single from their first album, The Poison.

All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me)

Link

A couple of tracks I like from their most recent album, Scream Aim Fire: Creeping Death, Say Goodnight

Lazyboy, sorry I have not posted to this earlier,I just found your comment now, I have only heard a few songs from A7x, I liked what I heard, I will check out the songs you mentioned, and get back to you on this soon, thanks for the lists and patients, great work.

I think our tastes in music are similar, more harder stuff, alternative, modern rock, industrial, metal, agro, etc... so, I am betting I will like your choices.
THANKS AGAIN,
Z

Collective Soul and Bleu, nice choices. I haven't heard anything from JET other than their 1st album. How is Shaka Rock?

PS: The Cars - Love their 1st 2 albums. I used to put the headphones on and play along on the drums for ever when I was a wee teen :D

The new Jet is a little bit different than the earlier releases but its still filled with fun, loud, but maybe not quite as straight forward rock.

Bleu is really something. This new one, "A Watched Pot", is slower paced, but still ridiculously tuneful.
I would recommend checking Josh Fix, primarily his first one called "Free At Last" and Roger Klug's "More Help For Your Nerves". Check out the sound samples on Amazon. Amazingly melodic music for sure.

The Cars were the soundtrack of my high school years.

On a side note, I was listening to my iPod today while raking leaves, and sometimes I come across a song in which I don't recall the title. Every time Poison the Well came on, I always chuckled a bit at their titles. They've got some of my favorite titles; here's my top 20 (Poison The Well song titles):

Grain of Salt (What's the Use of Having a Heart)
12/23/93
Slice Paper Wrists
My Mirror No Longer Reflects
Botchla
Sticks and Stones Never Made Sense
Meeting Again For The First Time
A) The View From Here Is....B) A Brick Wall
Zombies Are Good For Your Health
The Opinionated Are So Opinionated
Apathy Is A Cold Body
Pleasant Bullet
Breathing's For The Birds
Nagaina
The Notches That Create Your Headboard
Composer Meet Corpse
The First Day of My Second Life
Who Doesn't Love A Good Dismemberment?
Antarctica Inside Me
Makeshift Clay You

I'm obsessed with the new AFI album Burials. AFI sounds very different than they did 16 years ago when I first saw them as the opening act to The Offspring. Though it took a couple years before I bought their album, I never forgot that 30-minute thrashing impact -- they were the first band I ever saw live. Their sound has evolved from the punk days to hardcore/goth punk (if that genre even exists) to just plain hard, melodic rock. Davey Havok's darkness remains a constant in the lyrics and music for the most part. Though he may not enjoy returning to those dark places, it's why I love their music. It's what makes their music f@%king awesome.

Here's my top 10 AFI tracks:

1. Totalimmortal (All Hallows EP)
2. I Hope You Suffer (Burials)
3. Of Greetings and Goodbyes (The Art Of Drowning)
4. Dancing Through Sunday (Sing The Sorrow)
5. Love Like Winter (Decemberunderground)
6. Wake Up Call (Very Proud Of Ya)
7. God Called In Sick Today (Black Sails In The Sunset)
8. ...But Home Is Nowhere (Sing The Sorrow)
9. The Days of the Phoenix (The Art Of Drowning)
10. Jack The Ripper (cover) (Decemberunderground B-Sides)

Top 5 from new album Burials:

1. I Hope You Suffer
2. Rewind
3. The Conductor
4. The Sinking Night
5. Heart Stops

AFI also has the best opening and closing tracks to their albums. Here's their best ones:

Opening
He Who Laughs Last (Very Proud Of Ya)
Strength Through Wounding (Black Sails In The Sunset)
Miseria Cantare - The Beginning (Sing The Sorrow)
Prelude 12/21 (Decemberunderground)
The Sinking Night (Burials)

Closing
God Called In Sick Today (Black Sails In The Sunset)
Morningstar (The Art Of Drowning)
...But Home Is Nowhere (Sing The Sorrow)
The Face Beneath The Waves (Burials)
