I've been waiting 12 years to see these guys again, it should be great. I was so pumped up when I found out they got back together earlier this year. I've checked a few of their fansites and it seems as if they have been playing mostly just stuff from the first three albums which is exactly what I want to hear. I've always been a huge fan of these guys and they were awesome back when I saw them live the first time in 1996 (with Cheap Trick opening for them too!) so I cannot wait until tomorrow.

Any other STP fans here?

You Bastard!!!!!!!!!

Yeah - I love STP. I caught them when they were touring for the CORE CD. So yeah - more like 15 years for me.

They are playing in Southern California four times on this reunion tour. You should try and catch them at least once.

Yeah - all during the times I have stuff that will make it damn near impossible for me to attend. The Hollywood Bowl is a great concert seat. My best chance is to see them in San Diego - but my wife would kill me if I didn't take her.

What an awesome show last night! They sounded so great it was unreal. It helped that they played at the State Theatre which has some of the best acoustics this side of the Mississippi.

This was the set list:

1- Big Empty
2- Wicked Garden
3- Big Bang Baby
4- Silvergun Superman
5- Vasoline
6- Lounge Fly
7- Lady Picture Show
8- Sour Girl
9- Creep
10- Crackerman
11- Plush
12- Interstate Love Song
13- Too Cool Queenie
14- Coma
15- Down
16- All In The Suit That You Wear
17- Sex Type Thing
*ENCORE BREAK*
18- Sin
19- Dead And Bloated
20- Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart

I was very pleased with the selections, especially since a few of the not-so-great hits (Days Of The Week, Hollywood Bitch, etc.) were scrapped in order to play a few of my favorite album tracks, namely Silvergun Superman, Lounge Fly and Sin! The latter of which had to be one of the main highlights for me as it is one of the last songs you'd expect a high profile band to start an encore with. The first note of that song sent a chill up and down my spine! The on stage chemistry between the band was outstanding and you could tell that they were genuinely happy to be back together again. We had pretty halfway decent seats as well. The cost was rather high ($66 including service charge per ticket) but it was worth it to me.

Here are a few short video clips as well:

I know my cell phone's camera isn't the best quality, but if I had known they were going to be so lenient on recording devices I would have brought my digital camera. Oh well, that's the way it goes! Enjoy! :D

Most definitely. The few deep cuts they threw in amongst the hits were a pleasant surprise to say the least. Now if they ever play Still Remains (my favorite STP song ever) in my presence I can die a happy man.

So what is their definitive signature song, IYO?? If I were to listen to them for the first time (I don't think I have heard them before...I know :wtf: )....what song would that be?

No problem. There is a little bit of clicking during the first half of Big Empty but after that it's smooth as silk.

If I had to choose just one song I'd say Plush would be their signature song.

However, they had FIFTEEN top ten hits in their career. Plush was the first to reach number one though. They also won a Grammy for that song back in 1993.

You can listen to Plush by clicking here.

Not to mention Interstate Love Song & Vasoline. Both got a lot of over saturation when they hit.

True, but Purple was their best album so it's all good. :D

Yes you should have heard them before woodrow.

I believe that "Interstate Love Song" is probably the one you might have heard or remember more than the others, but Plush is another.

Here is Interstate Love Song.

You have to watch the entire video though, as you wont hear the song until about 30 seconds into it.

STP is a great band! I'm a big fan...own all of their albums.

"Interstate Love Song" is probably the most representative overall but their discography is packed with great songs.

I don't really have a favorite song, but I'm sure that "Tiny Music...Songs From the Vatican Gift Shop" is my favorite album from their discography.

That seems to be the popular opinion these days. Myself, I'm a Purple kind of guy and my favorite song of theirs is Still Remains without a doubt.

I never have been much of a concert goer. I far prefer to listen to the original recordings.
But that being said, there have been a few that I have went to and enjoyed.

The atmosphere is worth it in most cases, and simply put, some groups just put on better shows than others.

Although I was never a HUGE/devoted STP fan, I did enjoy alot of their stuff.

There are some acts though, that just seem as though they would put on a good live show.
In my opinion, I think STP would be one of those that would put on a great concert.

Sex Type Thing is my favorite STP song, followed by Interstate Love Song.

I'd say Core is my favorite album from them, but I can listen to all of it and love it.
