Dawn of the Dead (Original Romero)
Star Wars IV: A New Hope
Ringu (Original Japanese)
Halloween (Original John Carpenter)

Great list! I see we match up on a few (Aliens, Star Wars IV, and The Thing). And even though they're not in my Top Ten, "Psycho", "Alien" and "Halloween" are very close.

I'm just really glad that someone listed Leon: The Professional as it is one of my favorite films as well. Not in my top ten, but in my top 20-30 for sure. Gary Oldman is so damn good as the villain it is downright scary.

I agree. He's excellent there.

Phantasm - what a fun original concept. A horror and Sci-fi film combined into a truly spooky and intriguing experience.

Have you by any chance seen the three sequels it produced?

Yes - 2 was so/so. I didn't like the guy they had playing the older Michael. 3 and 4 were much better.

Tough to name my personal top 10, but here's a definitive list of 6-7 (I believe I posted these somewhere else in this thread):

The Usual Suspects
Memento
Swingers
An American Werewolf In London
Seven
Fight Club
Reservoir Dogs

UPDATED for 2013

1.Day of the Dead (1985)
2.Forrest Gump
3.Easy Rider
4.The Warriors
5.Rivers Edge
6.The Departed
7.Dawn of the Dead (1978)
8.Take Shelter
9.Escape from New York
10.The Good The Bad and The Ugly

I had to go back through the list, because some of them were really not "personal favorites" and more blockbuster hollywood hits. This is more my current set of most loved films.

Alright, another Warriors fan! I'd also like to add Night of the Creeps and The Monster Squad to my list.
