"Danny" Representing "Apollo 11" (by way of his shirt) makes his way to Room 237 (The Moon is roughly 237,000 miles away.) Danny is on a carpet that resembles an Apollo Launch pad, toys included.

I'm starting to think Stanley Kubrick's The Shining is perhaps one of the greatest horror films of all time. Or one of the worst. But what it lacks in some departments , it makes up in subliminal messages, and people have to set out to find out what they are. Whether they are true or not, it has totally made me love this film and want to watch it again and again to find subtext.
In fact, a documentary called "Room 237" has either been released or set to be released which describes in details almost all of the hidden meaning and secretive messages deep within the Shining, such as Native American connections, Holocaust, homosexual, etc and the list goes on.
My favorite is that Stanley Kubrick faked the Apollo Moon landing and hid all the facts subliminally (to save his life apparently) in the Shining.
It would appear that the majority of the theories have seemed to come from one man, Jay Weidner, a filmmaker and Kubrick enthusiast. But now more are popping up and they are great.

Here is an article that came out in 2009 by Weidner, describing what he thinks in detail happened.

Here is a very slow, but entertaining documentary and all the hidden meaning related to Apollo, the Moon, Stanley Kubrick faking it.

Whether it is true or not, which I dont really believe..I still think its really entertaining and makes the film quite enjoyable. Not to mention this is one of the first films to ever use a steadicam and its quite amazing what Kubrick does with it.
But no matter what, there are hidden meaning in this film. What they TRULY mean is still up in the air.

Interesting theory proposed. Thanks for the link and post, SVB!
