2015 PTE Fantasy Football League

Here are the standings after week 2.

Start The Carr ..... 2-0 ..... 263.56 points
Kajagoogoos ..... 2-0 ..... 237.08 points
TZ DZ Minions ..... 2-0 ..... 225.94 points
Bieber Fever ..... 2-0 ..... 225.74 points
J&G's Misfits ..... 1-1 ..... 209.10 points
Derelicts ..... 1-1 ..... 201.90 points
The Dark Horse ..... 0-2 ..... 197.40 points
Fresh Franny ..... 0-2 ..... 191.54 points
HighQualityH2O ..... 0-2 ..... 179.22 points
Spittin' Whits ..... 0-2 ..... 169.82 points

It should be noted that "Fresh Franny" and "HighQualityH20" are both friends of mine who filled in at the last minute in this league.
They are not from years past, but due to a few reasons, a couple of older members could not play this year.
The rest of the people the board members here should know already.

In this thread we can rant, bitch and whine (or gloat) if our teams are doing well.

Its been a weird year SVB.

A few of the stud WRs got off to slow starts, and a BUNCH of the better RBs aren't doing shite either.
Which is why I never draft them early anyway.

In this league, I took Julio Jones #1 overall. (as I did in another league also)
I put him as the #1 WR this season, and if he finishes anywhere from #1-#3, then I am ok with that pick.

A few of the stud QBs are looking brutal this year too, namely Andrew Luck.
My sleeper pick of the year to make a good playoff run and beyond, the ARIZONA CARDINALS.

So I draft two of the top RBs (Eddie Lacy and Demarco Murray) and they both end up watching from the sideline by Week 3. It's going to be a long year.

It's good to get a win this week (sorry Derelicts), after getting bitched by TZ DZ last week. I'll have to work at it this season though because none of my players are consistent. However, I did have the first 2 weeks without Leveon Bell, so I'm thrilled to get him back.

My team is doing about what I expected, though I didn't see coming back from this deficit and winning tonight.

Lazy has a few under performers so far, but you waited it out and got Le'Veon Bell back.
He should be even bigger since Vick is now the QB there in Pitt.

And a note to Whit- I feel you on running backs.
That rubbish happens to me every year it seems.
Note the two guys I drafted as starters in this league are already hurt....Lamar Miller and Andre Ellington.
Miller did get some work in last week even though he was gimpy from the week prior.
Its sad about the Dolphins. It really is. The play calling is amongst the worst I have ever seen and the one area where they are moving the ball is running. (except some dink and dunk chucks to Landry)

How about getting to the goal line last week and throwing 4 straight incompletions..... I would like to see an explanation for that bullshit. (and its not even that I own Lamar Miller, I benched him this week just saying)

Oh, and my RB3 is Jonathon Stewart and he has put up 7.50, 4.2 and 6.5 the last three weeks. :ROTF:

Lazy is in another bigger $$ league with me, and its the same story at RB there for me.
Alfred Morris is absolutely unstartable there, and I have Lamar Miller there also.
I also have Crowell who is another bag of shite so far, and Dion Lewis who I got off the wire.
At least he put up 12 and change, but its a Belichek back. So you are screwed from the beginning there and you have to guess which weeks they are worth anything.

Oh yeah- I got Jeremy Hill in round 2 in my biggest league, check out his numbers....ridiculous.

Running backs are always garbage to me. Its interesting to deal with it though.
At least I don't burn early picks on some sack of shite so he can get hurt and under perform anymore.

Getting Julio Jones at #1 overall looks like absolute wizardry thus far.
He won't keep up this pace, but I will just be happy if he can stay healthy, and I doubt thats going to be the case.

2015 PTE Fantasy Football League

Here are the current standings after week 9.

TEAM ----- WIN/LOSS ----- Points scored

TZDZMinions ... 8-1 ... 1074.38
The Dark Horse ... 7-2 ...1102.40
Kajagoogoos ... 7-2 ... 1005.50
BieberFever ... 6-3 ... 1012.62
Start The Carr ... 5-4 ... 1074.20
HighQualityH2O ... 3-6 ... 886.18
J&G's Misfits ... 3-6 ... 868.22
FreshFranny ... 3-6 ... 851.12
Derelicts ... 2-7 ... 850.38
Spittin' Whits ... 1-8 ... 877.18

As always, a few surprises.
Several big name WR's are doing poorly this year, and as usual there have been a TON of RB's lost.
In fact, I think there are more "big name" RB's out for the season, than it usually is by now.

More on this soon.

I do not "expect" to win anything.

I do realize that the ones that make the playoffs year after year are the guys to beat though.
But aside from that, anyone can have a brutal year here and there and I have certainly had my share, whether it was poor choices drafting, injuries, not being "fortunate" on wire pickups, for any multitude of reasons.
Bad years happen to us all.

I was very fortunate to win 2 leagues last year, and they were bigger leagues to boot. In fact I cashed 3rd in this PTE league also, so no bitching on this end.

Going into this season, I knew I would be hard pressed to do as well as last season overall.
Encouragingly enough, I am slowly moving towards a position to head to the playoffs in all four money leagues I am in.
You never know whats going to happen, but I should rightfully have a "shot" at a championship or two this year, and realistically thats all one can hope for.

The real question is, when are YOU SVB going to play again?

Just an open note to the members of this league -

I want to address the waivers that we use, and clear up any issues that you guys may not have pieced together.
(I believe I explained it to Chris in PM, but I can't be sure)

When the votes were cast, several on my end had voted to use "no waivers" but continual rolling list on those players dropped, which is what this league had used over the years.
No harm no foul right?

This year, there were a couple of people that ultimately didn't join for a variety of reasons.
After going back and forth through PM with Chris, I told him I would "do what I could do" to try and hustle up some last minute players to fill out the league.
Realize this was within the last 2 weeks before the season started, and I was "under the pump" a bit to try and make sure we got enough.
Sure enough I got two members, which are "Fresh Franny" and "HighQualityH2O".
So as I got the money, I painstakingly went over how we do waivers (and traditionally had) for years.
I know its different than many, so I was sure to explain to them up front how it is done.

Then Chris put up a poll to see if everyone wanted to change it.
I don't think thats an issue, and I think its fine if we go the normal "traditional" waiver route next year, and to be honest I doubt anyone has an issue with it when the time comes.

But please realize, that I had already collected the money from guys at pretty much the last minute for this league, and also explained to them how everything was supposed to go (traditionally anyway).

I noted it on the team page, but there were no responses afterwards.
I know it wasn't a popular vote, but I don't think it would have been the best thing to do AFTER I had already gotten the money from them at the last minute, and informed them of what to expect.

For what its worth....
I am a big proponent of using the "continuous rolling" setting, even with the weekly/Sunday through Wednesday waivers.
I don't like the record based waiver priority, as that penalizes the "middle of the pack teams".
If you use the continuous rolling set up, you know once you finally get to the top priorities, not to "waste" your priority on something, and it becomes truly valuable later in the season.
It does roll every week, as people claim guys etc. etc.
I'm just not a fan of the record based settings.

I do know Alsunday and Griffin, well I think they are fine with the style you were intending to use this year as a change if we implement it next year.

Also- I do not know that the 3WR AND a flex is terribly popular. I believe the last couple of things I heard about it was "one or the other". But again, this is not an issue with me.
I'm in either way.

I just wanted everyone to know why several here voted the way they did, and I doubt it will become an issue next year.
We can change it if most agree, it shouldn't be a problem.

I'll post the final end of season results after this weekend.
Only 1 spot is clinched, and the last 3 playoff spots are being determined this week.
Start the Carr is probably far enough ahead in points where even if he loses, he clinches a playoff spot.
KAJAGOOGOOS, DARK HORSE and BIEBER FEVER are all scrapping for the last 2 spots.
Kajagoogoos has a one game lead over the other two, but its close enough in points where anything can happen if he loses tomorrow.
I have clinched the only spot already and I sit at 12-1.

Good luck tomorrow guys.

2015 PTE Fantasy Football League - Final Regular Season Results

TZDZMinions ... 12-2 ... 1615.04
Start the Carr ... 9-5 ... 1593.66
The Dark Horse ... 9-5 ... 1572.90
BieberFever ... 9-5 ... 1527.78
Kajagoogoos ... 9-5 ... 1514.92
J & G's Misfits ... 6-8 ... 1448.48
Derelicts ... 6-8 ... 1430.62
HighQualityH2O ... 5-9 ... 1480.66
FreshFranny ... 4-10 ... 1281.80
Spittin' Whits ... 1-13 ... 1237.60

The last few playoff spots were down to the bitter end, as 4 teams actually finished tied at 9-5, and then we had to go to points.
With "Kajagoogoos" getting snuffed out by less than 13 points.

This week the two matchups are -

TZ DZ Minions (119.01) vs. Bieber Fever (113.78)

The Dark Horse (107.69) vs. Start the Carr (118.58)

The numbers beside the names are the projected points expected, as the lineups are currently set, which are sure to change a little by the weekend.

Good luck to everyone after another solid season.

I like the non standing based waivers and am fine with waivers in general. I'm also not a fan of having 3 wr AND a flex. 2 wr and Flex or 3wr is much better.

This week the two matchups are -

TZ DZ Minions** (119.01) vs. Bieber Fever* (113.78)

The Dark Horse (107.69) vs. Start the Carr (118.58)

Sweet matchups there. This is about what I expected and hoped for. Dark Horse vs. Minions in the finals would be a CLASSIC PTE FF championship.
This kind of makes me wish I still play. I stress kinda.... Lazy spoiling TZ DZs potential title win would be a great XMAS gift. (just kidding) that might even bring my arse back into the fold, just like the good ol days. Might as well tease a return next year now, while the Fantasy Football "Fever"* is still strong :bell: :ROTF:

*Most likely the winner :P

Not looking good for Lazy.
He is not out of it by any means, but both those guys had players going Thursday night.

Dark Horse is leading Start the Carr 17.90-15.70
But Lazy had 2 spots that played, to STC's one WR.
Not out of reach by any stretch, but STC has a bit of an edge.

What can you do.....

3 of the last four years I lead the league in points and best overall record (or tied) then lose in the first round of the playoffs.

Its part of the game.
Many of the better "stronger" teams did poorly in weeks 14, which in 12 teamer leagues is a bye week for the top two.
In every 12 team league I am in, most teams on a bye would have lost, they had a brutally low output.

Of course that doesn't affect our league since its a 10 teamer.
I thought it was interesting though.

OH, and I been saying it from the preseason.... DAVID JOHNSON is an absolute monster.
Too bad Bruce Arians and crew needed a load of injuries to finally see it and give him his chance.

So what's the record of Dark Horse vs. Minions in playoff appearances? Also, Has Beiber won a championship yet? Seems to dominate the league also.

So what's the record of Dark Horse vs. Minions in playoff appearances? Also, Has Beiber won a championship yet? Seems to dominate the league also.

Since the leagues inception, which was 2007. Formerly called "PTE GRIDIRON", we have had 9 seasons including this one.

The years Lazy "Dark Horse" has made the playoffs -
2007
2008
2009
2010
2011
2013
2014
2015

The years I "TZDZ Minions" have made the playoffs -
2007
2008
2009
2010
2012
2014
2015

I know it was last year, or this preseason I went back and tallied up every game Lazy and I had at some point, but he was ahead by either 1 win, or two, I can't recall.
He did not beat me in the 2 regular season games this year, so its as close as it gets. I probably won't go back and look through all that to see again, maybe after the first of the year.
We do play this week for 3rd place money though, so he may well win one against me this year still.

It should be noted, that one year I did NOT make the playoffs (2011), an unknown team called The DC Headhunters made the playoffs, finishing 4th.

I had forgotten, but other years you had played were -
2007
2009
2010
2011

Start saving now dude, and get prepared for next year. We played for only $30 per team.
I believe you said you would play again the next time the Redskins win their division and it may well happen this year.
I'm fairly sure you said something along those lines somewhere on the board here.
Its time you dusted off the cleats and got into the league again bro.

Redskins might win their division. Ridiculous.

So looks like the Redskins are going to win their division.

Can we expect SVB in next year's fantasy league?
I'm not about to start searching, but I know you mentioned something along those lines here somewhere.

Looks like Bieber Fever has defeated Start The Carr, and is the 2015 champion.
Congratulations.

From the Yahoo list, Bieber Fever had made the playoffs once before, that was last year where he finished fourth.

Tim Hightower came back from the fantasy dead to help teams win titles in championship week everywhere. :ROTF:

As it turns out, in the biggest league I am in, the winner there had Hightower also.

This will tell you how lucky and unpredictable fantasy can get.
Here is the list of running backs that was on that particular owners roster in championship week this year.

Tim Hightower, Cameron Artis-Payne, T.J. Yeldon, Jerick McKinnon and Rashad Jennings. :yack:

:wtf:

Open note to Lazy, and any of the other board members that may happen upon this.

Just to let everyone know, I believe everyone on my end is down to play yet again this year, if needed.
I do want to go on record and say that 1-2 of them said they would rather not have BOTH 3WR AND a Flex, that they would rather have one or the other.

Also, I think a waiver order is fine too this year, and it should be continuous rolling. (Once you use your priority, you go to the back of the list) That seems to be what everyone was wanting last year.
I don't think the weaker teams should automatically get priority each week, but everyone I ask seems to agree on that.

NOTE- I had no issue with it last year, but by the time everyone started clamoring for changes, I had already collected the money and the owners were anticipating the "old style" way.
On that note, we have contemplated changing that in the 2 Outer league also, but there are a few guys that are not very "sharp" with it, so leaving that as it has been all along is probably going to be the best for that league.

Obviously its early, but we might as well get the ball rolling, that way I know what I have to tell a few of the guys that do not post here, concerning any changes.
Some of these guys I only see here and there, so the earlier I know the better.

Hey been a while but haven't had the free time to access a computer (mine died a few months ago - been using my phone for internet/apps etc). Anyway, just for clarity -- the WR/flex problem shouldn't have happened. It was supposed to either remain 3WRs or change to 2 plus a flex but inexplicably the alteration never took hold on the site. So that will for sure be one or the other not the combo (I also think that is too many players). Waivers - doesn't matter to me how they roll out. I'll go with majority. Hope all is well with everyone.

Time for people to start speaking up on fantasy this year.
Its that time again~!

Lazy- let me know who and how many you need of the guys last year I picked up.
I know I can get at least 1 or 2 of those again.

If I play this year I'm going full auto drafting of players because I do not follow individual players anymore. Im just not a fan of filling up what little brain cells i have left with names and statistics. ;) I just like to watch the game and my home team, and I barely remember there names either. My awareness of a team won't make them better I've learned :ROTF: While its absolutely essential to be aware of how good or bad players are to be successful in a fantasy football league, I have found my best success in pts ff is when I got auto drafted a team (Ironically it wasn't by choice but accident.)
Who determines the order of the draft again? I still haven't been involved in a draft in this league yet.

OPEN NOTE TO WHIT -

Lazy is currently without a computer, and is accessing much of his online things through his phone.
And it doesn't work with this board well.
He is planning on doing the PTE fantasy league again, and I traded PMs with him the other day.

You in again this year???

PtE may be in danger of a hiatus this year - my cousin had to back out; I've PMed whit but have not received a response. I'm checking with Bieber Fever - he is up in the air cuz he is moving. May have to postpone this season. Since its coming up fast I'll do my best to keep you posted.

Albert/Derelicts, Mike/HighQualityH2O, Griffin/Kajagoogoos all three will be returning, plus me. So there is four.

"SourFanny" will not be in the league, so he can be deleted.

If you need help I might can find another last minute player.

If we are truly "last minute" I know all my guys are good for paying, so if we have to gather things last minute (or during weeks 1-2), its not an issue on this end.
Keep that in mind.

Lazy.........question.

I just noticed your brother isn't in the league this year......?
Whats going on with that, he has been a staple for years now. (not to mention he has won a couple too)

I'm guessing Whit will play, he typically is on the board here Sundays, so maybe he chimes in today.

Come on boys, its the best entertainment for $30 you will ever spend. (err, it is $30 right? or $35 I can't remember)

I suppose we could play 8 if needed. Albert might know someone else that is interested in a smaller $$ league like this, I need to ask him, and I should be speaking with him Monday.
Would be a shame for this league to miss a year.... but if we have to, then we have to.

SVB should get back in too, go completely old school.

We need to try and twist Creepers arm and get him in.
Maybe if we promise him a free lap dance at one of his local gentleman's establishments..???
That would probably get a rise out of him. (should probably reword that)
