Hey Gang,

I really like Soldat (17) in the Derby tomorrow. Including Shackleford (14), Santiva (12) & Dialed In (8) on my tickets. Anyone else?

Well, this year I have followed it far less than I typically do. (which isn't as much as many of my friends do, like you or big Mike)

Interesting notes though............... in the last hour or so, apparently one of the more promising horses has been scratched.

After 9 a.m. this morning, "Uncle Mo" was scratched, citing a mysterious ilness which has all the people surrounding him baffled.

Also, something else I noticed....
"Pants on Fire" is being ridden by Rosie Napravnik. This is only like the 5th time in Derby history that a female is participating. Early lines are somewhere around 20-1 for "Pants on Fire".
Considering that "Pants on Fire" just won the $1 million Louisiana Derby just over a month back, there may be some value on this horse also. But again, I have not looked at this horse and his performance there (and anywhere else) at all basically.

I was hoping Mo would run as he was a bet against & would have enhanced my horses' prices. Pants On Fire (7) w/Rosie certainly has a shot & will be a part of the early pace. I don't like deep closers to come all the way, so that would enhance the chances of the 14, 17 & 7 who will be tracking the speed of the 6 & take over at the top of the stretch. It's so wide open - get yourself a price!
