Well, after the last couple of seasons, I was stoked in the weeks leading to the draft.

As my first pick came to me, I realized that I would finally have the chance to get Chris Johnson.
He was the one big name who I had wanted on my team in the last few years, and now I got my chance.

So, I slowly opted against Ray Rice, and clicked on Chris Johnson. (I am expecting a great season from Rice this year, much better than years past for several reasons)

Chris Johnson - Week 1 fantasy stats = 4 points.

On another humorous note, Peyton Hillis got me a slick 8.
Don't get me wrong, I am not expecting a similar season from the guy as he gave me last year.
But I noticed the Browns looked just pitiful yesterday. Err, make that the entire country (that paid attention) noticed that the Browns looked pitiful yesterday.

For some reason, I'm not quite as stoked this year after the draft.
Yesterday , quite a few terrible performances didn't exactly help my outlook on the season either.

This will actually be interesting as the season progresses.

Yes. Because if Schaub is going to give me several weeks of the shite he put up Sunday, he won't be in my starting slot around week 4 or so.

Not much else in the FA pool quarterback wise, and I don't have much trust in Kyle Orton either.
I have my reasons for not dropping him already.

Gotta say - Roethlisberger blew chunks so hard they felt it in New Zealand. Going from his record against Baltimore - he had a 6-0 history of beating them. I almost started Flacco as a game day decision figuring Baltimore's time was due - wish I had.

WOW........ I didn't notice you had opposing QBs in that game.

Don't feel bad, I would have most likely went with Big Ben also. :yack:

Yes, all signs pointed to Roethlisberger so it's just the roll of the dice here. In my "alpha" league, I thought I had a real good shot at winning after the Rodgers-Jennings combination and with a last-minute decision to play Mike Tolbert (who scored 27 fantasy points). However, my brother ripped me to shreds all on Monday night because he had that bastard Tom Terrific who decided to throw a monstrous 517 yds (which yielded a 3-pt. bonus no less) with 4 TDs. Run DMC with his 150 rushing yds didn't help me either.

At least I pulled a win in the PtE league!

In my opinion, I have some of the most difficult decisions I may have ever had, in fantasy this week.

Many of the experts saying to sit Chris Johnson. :wtf:
Even if I decided to try that gamble, who in the f@%k am I going to slip in his slot? Marshawn Lynch? :ROTF: Bad scenario for Lynch this season, as he is getting no help from his line.

At QB, I have Matt Schaub, who isn't expected to do much vs. Miami. (also the likely return of Arian Foster will dampen that passing attack)
Do I start Cam Newton vs. Green Bay??
The one positive there, is they will most likely be playing from behind most if not all of the game. Think about that one... SERIOUSLY.

My WR waters are even more murky.
Do I start Nate Burleson....... I don't like anything opposite Megatron. He sucks up passes like a Dyson vacuum cleaner.
Jacoby Ford is injured, in what may have been a great matchup. (may or may not play) I look for a strong latter season from this guy. Lots of speed and talent.
I snatched Brandon Gibson earlier from the free agents, in what might be a great temporary pickup.

I have less faith in my squad at this point, than I believe I have ever had in the past.
Although I have been known to work up a few scrappy wins over the years, out of the free agent pool to piece together some victories, you cats are making it tougher.

Chris Johnson won't be able to do anything against the Ravens defense. He couldn't do anything against the Jags' D. But if Marshawn Lynch is the only guy you can plug in there then I'd take my chances with Johnson. Did you check free agency? Because there has to be someone better than Lynch.

As for your QB situation, I'd leave in Schaub. Foster is coming back from a hamstring injury. I don't see them overworking him to where Schaub loses attempts. Plus, Miami gave up 517 yards to Brady so I am sure Houston is going to try to exploit that secondary again. Schaub has Johnson and Jones so I think he has more potential to put up the most points. That's just my opinion though.

2 cents added: Burleson isn't a bad play this week because Megatron (coming off an ankle injury) will garner most of the coverage anyway which would open up Burleson for some receptions and a possible touchdown.

Of course, I want Megatron scoring by the boatload so....

There was a stat correction on Hakeem Nicks - Crackbabies gained 2 points to get the win. If you go to the league, there is a link for Stat Corrections week 2. They explain that the NFL reviews films and submit stat corrections. You were on the unfortunate end of said correction.

Well, unless something changes, it looks like a 91 - 91 tie between SVB and whitsbrain.

Call it what you like, but seriously lucky for SVB he didn't snag a loss here.
I forgot the exact deficit, but for Romo to be held to as little as he was, was lucky indeed.

I would have rather lost then tied. I am absolutely disgusted. Not only to have the Redskins lose but to sit through the game agonizing and wondering if I would pull out the win...its just really shitty. I cant post any Charlie Sheen picks today :(

TZ DZ Fan congrats on your victory. Stupid me doesn't start Gore since he had a bum ankle, wasn't guaranteed to play..then they say he is active but not starting with hunter getting some carries...what does he do score 19 fantasy points. I could have been down 3 with Smith for Ravens going but so far he has nothing. I most likely would have still lost. Either way great victory buddy.

Err, I think it was more luck than anything, but thanks.

It was all Cam Newton sneaking in 2 TDs.
If not for that, I am sure it would have been the other way around.

It sure was some garbage games on today.
(along with a couple of dynomite ones too) The Cowboys vs Lions was a sparkler. :sparkle:

Well, the bye weeks begin!

It will be interesting to see how the bye weeks affect our teams again this season.

I am losing Jason Witten (a true bright spot on my roster), and also the under-performing Peyton Hillis.
Hillis will be interesting in the coming weeks, for a variety of reasons.
He was sick a week ago from yesterday with strep throat. That kept him out of the game, and he lost 10-12 pounds over the course of a few days. So this bye week will help him get back to 100%.
Another interesting development, is today the Browns coach came forward and said Hillis needed to get the ball more, so I am expecting him to get closer to 2010 dependability soon.
RBs have been a killer for me this season so far..... :(

Showdown for First Place this week.....Dark Horse and Myself...although I have to say...I would have preferred a 4-0 vs. 4-0 matchup....it is still for bragging rights. I believe this is the best record I have ever had in fantasy football. Hopefully I can finally snag that long awaited playoff spot.

Yeah, and I will.

Two of their key DEF guys are out, and will be back soon. And also their schedule has several easy matchups late in the season.......... but then again, you might not think nor look far enough ahead for that. (right in the few weeks before the playoffs)
I was very surprised to get them and damn happy, and rather shocked any of the others had not picked them up for strong defense late season.
See you in the playoffs.

DrMoreau thanks for dropping Big Ben. :D I loved having his 5td's this week propel me to victory. I see it didn't hurt you too much though as you will be winning your matchup this week. Just wanted to thank you. Hopefully Big Ben can keep this up in the upcoming weeks to help my team move up in the standings.

I never liked having Ben R. for a few reasons, mostly is he isn't very consistent.
I suppose he is a top 15 or so QB, but the Steelers aren't always known for putting up a ton of points, moreso for their defense over the years.
Him getting all those TDs this week was a fluke, but I'm sure you know that.
The TEN defense had been doing well up until yesterday, then they decided to give up the world vs. PIT, but what can you do.

On the QB note, I have Schaub on my bench, who is a borderline top-10 "fantasy" QB.
Hell, I might cut him loose for another decent WR.

(Currently writing my acceptance speech for the "Hershey Squirt of the week" award I shall be receiving later this week)

Two of my players ended up getting zero points, I am leading by 13 points, and Lazyboy's Dark Horses still has three incredible offensive forces playing tonight. I have Chicagos DEF against his players Stafford, C Johnson, and Forte. f@%k my Life. I am not about to go through another diasterous Monday Night Football nervous breakdown. I will watch the game with no feelings towards it. I have already marked it down as a loss so I dont cry myself to bed to night, and am already preparing for Week 6*...

No Problem - Ben has serious consistency issues but I'm glad he served you well when you needed that extra boost.

Even though he performed well this week, I don't think if I had not did my drops and adds I would have won this week. So - even though I missed out on his big fantasy play week - I finally won a game.

I hope Ben continues to serve you well.

Jcrm........
Nice pick up on Jermaine Gresham. I had him in place of Jason Witten last week, who was on a bye.
I was surprised when he was still in the FA. He has all the talent, and is getting a bigger role slowly in the Bengals offense. The only thing that has been holding him back thusfar is lack of targets.
I believe he got me 20 odd yards and a TD last week.

SVB- (and the rest of the league) - Take a look at the lineup I have starting vs. SVB this week.
If I can manage to pull a win out here, it will be a sparkler. :sparkle:
This week killed me with byes, with no less than four starters out, no matter how I shake it up.
If I can manage a win here, you guys can go ahead and reserve me a spot in the playoffs, and fight for the other three spots in the coming weeks.

I am still not 100% sure of what I will do at RB, but with trade rumors circling, I may even bench Peyton Hillis.
If something happens in Cleveland and he is cut loose, then I may have a tough time of it, the remainder of the year at RB. His numbers have already been flat (expected to rise), and seeing as he is the central part of the offense there, if he gets shipped out his possibly big numbers like much of last year, are sure to take a hit.

Yeah I like Greshem, a nice fill in since Cook was on bye and stupid Gates is still hurt. Im hoping Gates is back next week cause then Greshem is on a bye. I checked out your team this week. I don't think its too far fetched that you get a win. I mean if Brady has a ok week then you can definitely take the victory. I think Hillis is staying in Cleveland (this year anyway). I think he is being a baby anyway..he had one good year. Prove you can do it 2 years in a row and avoid Madden curse and I'm sure Cleveland will beg you to stay. However he has no case as of now. I totally agree with Cleveland on this one.

Although I think Phillys defense will improve later in the season, Cincinnati is a greater immediate play this week vs the pathetic Colts. I need to piece together and scrape wins up, and I'm doing whatever I can to stay competitive here.
My starting team this week is full of "gambles" and high variance plays.
Notably Brandon Gibson, and Greg Little. (watch that guy, he is full of promise and supposedly one of the best new WRs in the NFL) The bad part of that scenario, is I have Peyton Hillis and Little both, and its highly unlikely that they both have a big day for the Browns. There ain't much left in the free agent pool, you scoundrels have picked it clean this year. :ROTF:

Not sure why anyone didn't pick Cincy up as a one week flyer.
For that matter, look at how they have performed so far. They could almost always be considered a starting DEF unless you have a top-notch defense. (which I don't)

I liked Delone Carter also, but as the week went on, they said he most likely wouldn't be the starter.

Almost every move I have made this season, I have had to go back and make another. LOL.
Still hanging in there though, see you cats at the playoffs.....

SVB and I have a close one going........... It looks like its going to be close down to the end too, as both of us have multiple starts in the late games.

Not only that, but Whit and DrM have another close one going also, and they both have interest in the Dallas vs. NE game.

Lazy is actually losing his match, but he has enough going late as to where he should win, barring some odd happenings.

Oh yeah, the Giants suck for beating the Bills. :yack:

Just thought I would let you guys know that...........

OK, a few "rant-ish" notes for those interested...........

Peyton Hillis was "straight up benched" in some opinions, and others say he had a mild injury.
Either way, with trade rumors swirling the last few weeks, I see him departing by Tuesday, which is I believe the deadline.
No matter how you look at it, I am f@%ked. (even if he joins a squad this week, it would most likely be two weeks before he started contributing meaningfully, and there is no team where he would be 80% of the offense like he was in Cleveland) A blow for all Hillis owners.
Could he go to Indy......Miami......Tampa Bay...? Maybe the Rams, but they have still-dependable Steven Jackson. For those teams he would make a much needed difference, as for the rest of the teams, it wouldn't be a good fit.

Seeing as Brandon Lloyd was mysteriously just placed "up for trade-out of the blue" after a monster season last year, I wouldn't be surprised to see Hillis in Denver, as they don't have much to offer for RBs there. They have no faith in McGahee (he isn't bad really), and if Tebow is now starting, much of the goal line work just won't be available anyway. Moreno might as well be out of the league, he is getting no work.
Cleveland desperately needs a head receiver, even though the rookie Greg Little looked decent today.

The Razorblades pulled out a last minute victory over Raider Nation, at the foot of Robbie Gould getting a slick 15 in a Sunday night rout. WOW!

The Crackbabies eeeeked :ROTF: out a win over the rebels, thanks to a TD by Adrian Peterson when AP was in the midst of a horrendous beating.

DrM picked up another win too, to get him off the bottom of the league with 2 wins in a row.
Thanks to M. Turner getting him a load.

The Dark Horse finally got his loss, which is good news to the rest of the league, opening the door a bit...... which is odd, because it really would have gotten interesting had I knocked off #2 SVB, when I had (in retrospect) a decent chance to do so.

Our league always seems to get much more interesting about week 6-8, or is it just me?

Nope - it's not just you. By week 6 the byes and injuries begin to work themselves out.

Yeah was happy to etch out a win especially since I didn't think AP would even touch the ball much with the Vikings down so much. I'm glad he resigned with the Vikes but does anyone else feel he might be regretting that decision. McNabb is flat out done in my opinion, he was done when Philly traded him to Redskins. Vikes should see what Ponder can do...at 1-5 you have a slim to none chance of playoffs especially in their division.

This is two years in a row that my team has sucked. I remember after the draft I was pleased at how my team looked.

Thankfully, I'm doing well in my other two bigger $$ leagues (Thank you Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers).

Don't feel bad, Whit. No matter how good my team appears - they usually suck.

In one of the wildest parlays of events I have ever seen on a Monday night football game, Lazy has come back to win his match vs the Derelicts. (and the Dolphins seemingly gave up on their season)

I told Alsunday there was just NO urgency early in the 4th quarter , when they had the ball and needing 2 scores. Down near their own goal line they opted for 2 ho-hum running plays, as if there wasn't a care in the world.

A multitude of last minute sacks and defensive scoring leads to yet another unlikely beating.

But with a few of the things I have seen over the years in our league, I can hardly say I am surprised.

I squeaked by with a lucky win, (The first time I think I have ever beaten TZ DZ?) I am probably going to get murdered next week against the Raider nation. Not only does Tom Brady have the bye week...my backup QB Fitzpatrick..has A BYE TOO!!! WTF. I had to sign Marc Sanchez and by god that is a terrible thing to have to resort to. Damn.

Yes Lazy and his Dark Horse have been so f'n lucky this season. I have been voting for him to win so I'll take those winning votes :)
