That blown call (I didn't even see it yet) is just one of many.

I believe the reason that one has stood out so much is it was in primetime with a game on the line.
Lets be fair, there have been plenty of bad calls already this season, that was just the most glaring.

For what its worth, theres plenty of bad calls every year in my opinion.

The NFL and football............... the easiest sport to fix.

I can hardly watch games anymore. It's been horrible for the last few years. So many rules and so many penalties.

I've been recording games on my DVR and then watching them later so that I can skip the OBSCENE number of commercial during a game.

The concussion topic is going to change the NFL. Look for flag football and no helmets or pads in about 20 years.

It was obvious the lack of experience by the replacement refs in week 2 cost the Washington Redskins the game against the Rams (well that and our defense but still..)
Even being a fan of the twilight zone, Ive seen enough black and white to last me a lifetime. Good riddance.

So would you rather see them bring back clotheslining and pulling down by the facemask or do you mean that they should at least go back to allowing more contact on the receivers and quarterbacks, like they used to. They always make rule changes that make it tougher for defenses, that's nothing new. More points equals more ratings, which means more advertising revenue.

No, I don't mean any of that safety stuff. That's all well and good. I honestly think the violent hits need to be curtailed more. My statement about flag football isn't necessarily a knock. The players are so huge and fast, they are killing themselves and I guess watching people try to behead each other has little appeal to me. Like Ultimate Fighting, I don't like to watch people beating the shite out of each other.

I mean there are too many pass interference calls, too many replays, the refs are so indecisive they won't make calls without replays. That is what is slowing the game down. And how many Viagra, Ford and Bud Light commercials do we need to see until the brainwashing sets in?

As someone that tends to take care of himself a tiny bit better than most, (current injuries aside) this type of advertisement generally pisses me off.
True , it speaks to the health care of the world (who would rather give you a pill to eliminate the symptoms, rather than give you a cure) but what they won't tell you is to get off the couch and get moving.

There was a study I read some years ago, and it basically said this.....(I'm paraphrasing)
"For men with erectile dysfunction, roughly 80%-90% of that can be improved drastically or even eliminated with a daily exercise regimen". Note- this isn't referring to a leisurely walk, but working up to a good 30 minute sweat.
Its sad really............keep popping pills for these type of ailments boys, and you will basically never get better, and will have to depend on those for the rest of your life.
This applies to lots of things in health and life, not just erection problems. A simple pill just gives you temporary relief.
Of course I don't blame major health companies............. Personally I would rather give you a pill and keep you coming back for more each month ,(all the while fleecing you out of your money) than give you the cure and have you get better saving you millions long term.
Note all the similarities to the above scenario to a local illegal drug dealer. 8) Keep coming back for more, and let the drug dealer take your money. I promise you he isn't worried about your health.

True story- I have played poker on and off for about 8-10 years with one much older gentlemen.
Now, realize this guy is 82. (maybe a year or two older)
He has a multitude of health issues , not the least of which is diabetes, though up until recently he got around fair enough, driving etc and generally doing what he wanted.
He had been complaining of problems in one of his feet, and the doctors told him for the last several years it was circulation problems related to diabetes. They warned him to get more exercise over and over. This went on for a couple years , until finally a few months ago he said "I wish they would go ahead and just amputate the damn thing".
Well, you know the end of this story.............
After months and years of little to no exercise , then ended up amputating everything, from just above the knee down,a couple weeks ago.
Here is a classic case of where the doctors even told him for months and years to get more exercise, and he just didn't do it. He would have rather sat around and gotten drunk several times a week and it ultimately caught up with him.
These types of stories just make me shake my head.

On the refs note-
The game is getting worse and worse.
Its getting to the point where you just can't hit anyone anymore, and I don't see it improving really, and will only get worse as time goes on.
The Hell with it, as long as we can play fantasy, I don't even care anymore.

Can't stand fantasy, to tell you the truth. Speaking of football, Giants beat the 49ers this week. Good win. I remember the 49ers used to be nearly unbeatable for years and the Giants only sometimes beat them in the regular season and only occasionally in the playoffs. Then both teams stunk for a long time and now they're both good again, renewing the rivalry. Still, nice job holding San Fran to 3 points.

Speaking of football, is there a 2012 NFL Football thread to discuss the season at here?

I believe in past years there was, but the majority of it this year is in our fantasy league thread.

So, even though I don't play fantasy football, I can post about the NFL season there? What I feel about fantasy football Jim Florentine describes here:

I just copied and pasted those, and didn't type those, but they didn't embed here, so copy and paste those if you want to hear them.
