For me, this is one of those episodes that fly under the radar. It's not a "classic", nor one I tend to think of immediately when TFTC is mentioned, but it's a solid episode for me. Superman runs a diner, squid only :yack: , and Meat Loaf enters the picture....

All of a sudden, "meat" is featured on the menu.

I think as a teenager it was average for me, but upon repeated viewings, it's gotten better.

Great point Lazy....Its absolutely not a Top 10....but its so damn juicy  that you cant help but love this one. It always makes me hungry...not many episodes can do that....even when its human meat LOL......I still think thats a damn good lookin' steak.
Great acting by all of them....this is actually the only episode of the whole series with a commentary track....and you get plenty of Cryptkeeper puns....
I love Judd Nelson's performence....who is this guy and where does he come from?.whats going through his brain..... For a homeless person he sure does have some clean clothes........In a sense for me I feel bad for the his character.....hes down on his luck and he finds a way for things to pick up ...(we are not suppose to really think about it like this or even care about who or what he is.... but thats how I can view it)....even though in a horrible way...hes just trying to survive though...the whole changing of his character at the end.....when the greed sets in and wanting to take over the business and steal Supermans wife...he gets what he deserves...In another life I'm sure he could have charmed his way to the oval office

Overall I will still say a 9...great episode that keeps you hooked the whole way through....

Very much an AHP Crime/Thriller theme with an Tales from the crypt flair about it. Almost a reverse of "Lamb to the Slaughter" - instead of cooking the murder weapon, you cook the the victim - classic.

Agreed, the this episode doesn't immediately leap to mind when you think of TftC, but definitely among the standout - although over looked - possibly due to the nature of this tale. Sure, the story is arguably enveloped in various versions of the plot, but it's very well done. This is a traditional approach that shows a good story doesn't need to try and be clever or updated to be a solid piece of storytelling.
