Here Dan has to find the truth about what happened on Christmas Eve 1979 at the newspaper's Christmas party in order to save the paper and its employees from being laid off. Not sure I like the idea of Dan having to use blackmail but hey, whatever works. On the home front, Katie is having the Vasser family over for Christmas, with a choir performing and Dan's mom joining the proceedings.

The theme here seems to be family, both Dan's and the one at the paper and the things we do to help and protect them. Speaking of family, Jack gets a surprise from girlfriend Theresa that they decide to keep a secret for now, plus Dan gets more insight into why his father left when he was a child when he runs into his father again and slightly changes things to soften the blow.

A nice family holiday story. I give it an 8.
