Now this episode, is yet another good one.
I can't believe that no one here has commented on it.

It has 1 of the coolest things in all of the whole JQ series in it, in my opinion. Namely, the "flying platforms".

There is alot here to like....... a "killer spider" that some rat-fink villain placed upon Dr. Quest while he was trying to sleep, bad guys running around in uniforms carrying rifles, a mysterious "volcano", and the most notorious bad guy in the series, Dr. Zin~!

Race and Benton actually have to parachute out of the Quest jet, as it was shot down by Zin and his laser/ray gun. This is the last time we will see the jet in action.

The scenes where the uniformed bad guys are chasing the Quest crew on the flying platforms is one of my favorites of the series, topped off with close range gunfire.
These guys meet an untimely demise as Race, Benton and the gang run under an overpass/ the bottom of the volcano.
Again, a rather violent death, considering the time of its release in the 60's.

Zin somehow makes one of his timely escapes, as all the bad guys were caught, and he mysteriously evades capture.

All in all, another great episode.
8 from me.

And over one year later......... I still don't see any comments from any of the hardcore JQ fans on our board.

Aw Hell...there's just so much I've got to watch, I never made it thru all of the Jonny Quest cartoons. I'll have to breakout the DVDs and remedy that. I love the show dude, it honestly just slipped my mind.

Must be the ass whippings in our fantasy football league that have caused memory loss...... :P

(err...... I couldn't resist joking - but you are still alive for the playoffs if you can piece together a few wins)

It's another encounter with Dr. Zin. He's got another hair-brained scheme that's making the locals a little nervous, so they call in the Quests to help. Seems Zin is developing a weapon, a volcano, that he wants to sell to the highest bidder. I'm not sure how the volcano gets moved to whoever pays for it, but he's a great criminal mind so we just have to take this at face value.

In the meantime, Zin has also developed some neat "flying platforms" that his henchmen use to defend his volcano project. The platforms out maneuver cars and motorcycles and can out run them, too. I'm not certain why Zin doesn't just market those and make his cash.

Zin makes the fatal error of not just putting a bullet in Race and Dr. Quest. They escape and put an end to his science project. Dr. Zin will never win if he keeps that up. Race is too much of a bad ass.

My Rating: 6 - Good
