Race, Jonny and Hadji crash land their plane in an area of Brazil populated by a savage tribe of pygmies. The boys manage to find a rocky cliff where Race is resourceful as ever, using rocks, logs and the belt that keeps up his pants to fight off the determined pygmies. There are a lot of drawings during the battle with the pygmies that are used repeatedly. In fact, Race appears to push the same bolder off a cliff about three times. An arrow also sticks into a log in the exact same location at the exact moment three times (or more). Whether these shortcuts were due to rushed production or a lack of a budget is a mystery.

My Rating: 5 - Good

Thank you, Whit. I didn't want to be the 1st to comment on this episode. Gawd - even as a kid I thought, :wtf:

Yet again, Race crash lands. Now, we just saw him in a dogfight kicking some ass and taking names in an old WWI plane, but he can't keep these multi-million state of the art Cessna's and like in the air. I tell ya, Dr. Quest was either rich or had 1 hell of an insurance policy with the CIA/NSA etc.

The pygmies themselves looked typical HB refined humanoids rather than the Wildey versions. Actually, there are lots of tried and true HB repeat cells in this episode as previously mentioned by Whit. It really cheapen the whole feel of the episode - not that it needed the extra help.

The story was half thought out. Almost like tossing idea cards against a wall. Plane Crash - check. Boys find something exotic ... apes, neanderthals, - no wait, Pygmies! Yeah, pygmies. Ok, now Jonny helps one of the pygmies, but the tribe turns on the boys because, because ... ah, they worship planes. That's the ticket. Lots of violence, but not too much, no real point the story just action, action action.

Although this gets a lot of airplay, it really was 1 of the bottom tier for me.

4!
