Bandit is the hero in this episode, so it's predictably juvenile. The ease with which Bandit slides into scuba gear by himself while swimming is remarkable, so is the fact that he hops a ride on a dolphin that just happens to know where a specific Coast Guard boat is. Then Bandit barks enough to convince the boat's captain that the Quest's are in trouble. Ugh. This one's really bad.

My Rating: 2 - Poor

Glad to see I'm not the only one who didn't care for this episode. Cliché characters and not very exciting. As Whit mentioned, this episode really went to the dogs. It's called Jonny Quest - not the Bandit-Doo Show. :(

I just watched this one a couple months ago, but these comments prompted me to watch it yet again.

This episode certainly seems one of the most "child-geared" of all the Quest episodes.
Right from the onset, much of it is centered on Bandit.

I do generally agree with whit's, and DrMs comments, but I am not quite as harsh as they are on it overall.

Bandit - This episode certainly centered around him, especially during crucial points. Much of it is hard to believe. (especially as adults, like we all are..err, I think  )
The point where he "swims into" his diving gear is a stretch, to say the least.
Whit mentioned Bandit barking to convince the captain the Quests are in trouble. The captain basically said "you are the Quest's dog", and it went from there.

DrM also mentions some "cliche' characters"........ true, but then again, JQ was pretty much laden with cliche' characters of this sort. I am betting this type of cartoon (and characters especially) would never fly in todays society.

Lack of action seems to be another consensus.
Yeah, not much of that Quest style action here. Some decent gunfire, and an explosion are pretty much all there is to this one.

I gotta agree with you guys.............. there is not alot of the superior action we are used to.
I look at this one as more of a down to Earth cartoon, one that doesn't quite give us the action/satisfaction that we are typically used to in our beloved JQ episodes.
I guess they can't all be top-notch. :(

Below average 4 from me.
