The Home Movie with Hadji episode. I'm sure they needed to tell this tale, but in a lot of ways I expected a little more. Although Hadji is clearly a center piece of the story, Dr. Quest, Race, Jonny and even Kronick and his henchmen are over matched by the presence of Pasha Peddler. I had never heard of a Semitic Hindi before but what they hey, it's Jesse White already.

Pasha's shtick gets a little old in parts but the action helps over come this. Being that this is our first meeting with Hadji, we do get to see him perform a nice rope trick, a quick life saving of Dr. Quest, and some other trickery that would later make him a key player in the show.

7!

It's the Hadji origin story and it’s a fast paced, gun firing adventure. Hadji saves Dr. Quest's life and the good doctor repays him by adopting him. Rifles, nerve gas…this was a Saturday morning cartoon!?!

My Rating: 7 - Very Good

Another day in the life of the Quests......

This story seems placed in the series just to bring Hadji into the mix. Was it necessary?? Perhaps not, but its a fun story nonetheless.
Right from the onset and introduction of Hadji, we are entitled to a bit of his "magic".

Somehow we go from studying the effects of sonic waves and their damaging effects, to embarking to a "secret lab" that is apparently making nerve gas. Hadji wiggles his way into the Quest clan, by stopping a knife that was thrown at Dr Quest from an "evil Indian bad guy".
NOTE- You can always tell the bad guys because they have this constipated look on their faces, and these Indian ones have goatees and beards. :ROTF:

It seems a little convenient that the Quests stumble across Pasha Peddlar when they do, but thats the way it works in JQ. Pasha himself has a "lucky way" of stumbling onto Race, when Dr. Quest is in trouble and taken by the bad guys into this cave/lab where this nerve gas is being produced.
Race then gets into the lab with the help of Pasha, and rescues Dr Quest.
Now the action ensues, and there is some gunfire, on the way to rescuing the Dr. This is noteworthy, as its some of the most memorable scenes of the series, and is highlighted in the opening credits to all episodes, along with some other action scenes.

This all ends rather abruptly, and the Quests fly off, while Pasha is bitching about how they didn't pay him for his help.

Perhaps not the best of the lot episode wise, but a solid, fun,Quest style story. There is gunplay, a chase on skis and also in some type of Quest all terrain vehicle (that they drive) but resembles a boat, and other miscellaneous action.

Enjoyable enough...... 7 here.
