I really like this episode for me it's one of the highlights of the first season. I get the impression most fans dislike it, the reason I like it so much isn't because I think the episode is really skilfully written or directed, it doesn't even seem much like a real TZ episode, as it doesn't follow the standard formula. However it's just tremendously entertaining for me, the idea of a possessed teacher who kicks the crap out of her rough students, and achieves a physical transformation towards the end is very exciting :D . 10/10

I've got a few things to say about this one, not much positive. Again, I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum than Rorschach, way over. Adrienne Barbeau and a gargoyle -- sweet! Sounded interesting, but it was just very cheesy. I refuse to watch this as a Twilight Zone. This is NOT a TZ, as Rorschach mentions. This actually plays like it should have been in the series Monsters. Now, that being said, I'll rate it based on the episode itself, not just because it doesn't follow suit with the series in which it exists. The school "gang" seems dated (and cheesy). The classroom scenes ooze cheese. Of course Barbeau beating the crap out of them is ridiculous too but hey, she is possessed by the spirit of a gargoyle. This just seems like such a pointless episode. But I didn't dislike it more than the ones I rated as low. I like gargoyles and the transformation was a cool effect.

Yes!!!!
My thoughts exactly. This just isn't a zone, this is not what the Zone is about. Now, Monsters!, on the other hand - that's what comes to mind when I watch this. Cheesy want-to-be "Creep Show" style story. Doesn't fit a Zone, it sort of fits into TftDS, but definitely fits the Monsters! format. Good call again.

Now, being a horror fan, I like it - although as stated - I don't consider it a Zone. It's dark, 80's edgy, and a quite well done gargoyle transformation scene. The gang is cliche 50's fitted into 80's garb. Come on - Trojan and Wizard - are these guys Dungeon and Dragons characters or gang members? And who couldn't play with the double entendre of Adrienne Barbeau as Ms. Peters? ;) Yeah.

Bad dialog, names, and campy attire aside, this is a brooding and visually stimulating work. Had a little more effort been put into this story, it could have been really a damn fine production. Unfortunately, it seems rushed and slapped together on the dialog. Definitely more geared towards the payoff of the gargoyle than the over all composition. It also didn't help that this double billed with "Paladin of the Lost Hour" which is downright pretty much the Zone to beat next to "Night Crawlers."

7!

lol that made me laugh, good observation DrM, I never really payed attention to the names much when I watched it, but it's true those names are too nerdy for gang members.

Yeah, I don't mind campy, but I just didn't like this. And I love gargoyles! The gargoyle story in TftDS - the movie was one of my favorites -- and freaked the hell out of me. Now I know this one is more cornball and comedic, but it lacked anything for me. Dr.M hit the nail on the head, 50s gang in 80s garb, yeah just bad.

Adrienne Barbeau brings an average story up a few notches. A 7 from me.

That's one little thing that's wrong with this story - when it comes to the male students, there's only one kind of trouble a teacher who's played by HER should expect, and it isn't the "kid who doesn't pay attention" kind.

Hey~! I thought you were married "fairly" recently.

We all know guys eyes aren't supposed to be wandering when they are married. 8)

Oh wait, we are here on PTE. You are amongst brothers, so any discussion of the opposite sex is as good as top secret here.
Well, uh kinda.
