I like the works of Stephen King, the other episodes that have been written by Harlan Ellison and Barrett Oliver from all those 80's movies I used to watch as a child, so I thought I'd really like this one. I was wrong, it was weak from begining to end, hated how he constantly talked to himself in his mind, and the ending with the cats eyes was pathetic. 1/10

I like King, and love Ellison alot, I saw this as a boy during halloween, it was good at that time, early 80s , that holiday, or so my memory would serve.
I recently caught this, I see its ok, yet it just gets monotous, the boys narrating can get incessant ( I am of a fan of a bastion of verbiage, yet he just seemed to think some contrived thoughts, sorry).
And yeah, as Ror mentioned, the eyes at the end pathetic, that trick ending has been done before, and done afterwards too death ( pun intended).

5 zones ( It had promise, yet let me down).

Your summations are always poignant and cerebral, thanks for the compliment, you as well are a deep thinker.

Oh I'm glad I'm not the only one who was disappointed with this one. I thought it was going to be one of the diamonds of the series, but instead it's a piece of coal. I just don't get how this can be a TZ. Sure, it can be spooky to a kid, but I just don't enjoy this. Evil spirits and monsters just don't seem to be the essence of a good Zone.

A 4 from me. Despite being a Stephen King story, there is too little time to build any sympathy or understanding to get the full effect of what happens.

Just watched this again, and glad I rated it a 1 the first time, boring, slow, and the narration really doesn't work.
