I liked this episode.
It had a good story line.

Any episode with Keenan F'N Wynn in it is great and this is no exception. Alas it was the last one. An ancient Mesopotamia succubus let loose by an ego-maniac professor - good stuff. Excellent casting choice to go with Andrew Prine. The epitome of a snobbish pompous conceited ass.

Kristina Holland makes a fun would be journalist who assists Kolchak. Nerdy Cute and Inquisitive - kinda like Velma incarnate from Scooby Doo. Her timing with McGavin is spot on. The looks, double takes, and goofiness may have been over the top at casual glance, but it's hard not be upstaged when Wynn or McGavin are on the screen with you.

One of those episodes that just falls sort of a 10 through no-ones fault. The pace and the story just seems choppy whether by editing, writing changes, or bad pick-ups from commercial breaks. This could have been easily stretched into an 90 minute run time and maybe should have?

9!

"Demon In Lace" is loaded with great conflicts between Kolchak and other characters, primarily with Captain Siska played by Keenan Wynn and as DrM mentioned, the snotty, conceited wimp, Professor Spate. Kolchak tricks, steals, cheats and aggravates to get to the bottom of this case about an ancient tablet that controls a succubus let loose on a college campus.

Kolchak battles the succubus late in the episode in what is a rather well done fight scene and he's relentless in his quest to bring the campus killings to an end.

My Rating: 7 - Very Good

This has always been one of my favorites from the series. Glad to see that the reviews thus far are positive.

I don't know the episode well, but I agree with DrMoreau about Kristina Holland. It's easy to really like her from just a few episodes of COURTSHIP OF EDDIE'S FATHER. She was also the voice of the daughter on WAIT TIL YOU FATHER GETS HOME, about the most underrated "adult" cartoon show ever. (I wish there were a site devoted to IT.)
