Definitely in my Top 5, if not top 2. Something about the writing and the mood always stuck with me. The plot, dialog, repertoire - they all worked. Even Kolchak - who didn't trust anyone - actually trusted 1 person.

10!

Great episode! I especially enjoyed the restaurant scene between Kolchak and the head waiter!

And that trust is what makes this episode a stand out and bizarrely sweet.

Kolchak, the Rakshasa beast, Emily…everything works in this episode. Kolchak does some hard-nosed investigative reporting. His demeanor is practically the opposite of some of the effective but bumbling work he does earlier in the season. The Rakshasa is actually pretty scary even though we only catch glimpses of it. The director does a great job of letting the viewer's imagination play a part in the scares. Emily is sweet as molasses and we learn that she is someone that Kolchak trusts.

My Rating: 9 - Excellent

Perhaps the most memorable of all the Kolchak's. This episode and "Chopper" is what addicted me to this fine show. I am glad to see many other members here fancy it too.

4 years and some change later, this is still, perhaps, the best episode of the entire series.

Sitting in the middle of the series, this is a a mid season adrenaline boost most series should strive to duplicate. We have a stellar guest cast that are among nostalgia TV whose who. Again, another episode that could stand along side the TV movies on its own and keep the viewer entertained.

10!
