Cry me a river...here in Minneapolis yesterday it was -25. Do you know how f'ing cold that is?!? Basically it's about 20 degrees colder than the inside of the ice cream cake freezer at Dairy Queen. The wind chill yesterday was -50. Today, for the first time since Monday, it got above zero. We're at a balmy +1 right now.

So as a comparison, last July we got up to 95 degrees. That means in six frickin' months, the temp difference is -120 degrees. Don't ask me why I live in this shithole. Tell me face-to-face about Global Warming right now and I guarantee I will punch you in the mouth. I could use some of chicken-little Al Gore's cash cow right now.

The coldest temp I've ever felt in my entire life was -39 in northern Minnesota when I was a teenager. The winds that day were 30mph which meant windchill was just shy of -80. The last few days have been pretty damned close.

I actually can answer that, which is why I hoped no one would ask me...It's because I don't wear the pants in this family, my kids do and they have lots of friends. I'm just going to continue to freeze my sack off here, at least until they graduate. Then the plan is to spend at least three months a year in the great Southwestern US of A. My wife says she won't go with me...my best wishes to her...looks like I'll be golfing alone.

Thanks for letting me bitch in vain.

Hey, thats not all bad dude.
At least your kids wear the pants in the family. Thats better then your wife wearing them.

The reason you might ask?????

All my friends that have wives, and their wives wear the pants.......................

Simply put, if your wife wears the pants, then typically the closest you normally ever come to actually getting in those pants is the back pocket. :P

Oh yeah, pretty picture...during the summer, we have New Orleans style humidity so you sweat buckets if the temp is 72 (no, I'm not obese). Give me a nice dry desert heat. Then there's the taxes, but that's another rant.

Sorry...the weather was my hot button, today its taxes. It's always something.

Not yet, comrade. Too many Republicans dissidents in the state to enact such a radical plan. ;)

end of June and ALL of July it rained.....like is this April or wtf?? We're suppose to be at the pool swimming, not using an umbrella!!
Now second week of August and it seems to be doing the same thing. A torrential downpour this am, first day of school here, driving the school bus and it pours all morning. Now, it is hot as hell this afternoon!

East Coasters: Hope all are safe this weekend with Hurricane Irene blasting through. Only way to do it: chase an earthquake with a hurricane.

f@%kin Irene!!!

Ironically, living in VA, I didnt feel any earthquake. I suppose the reason had to b that at the time it hit, I was in a moving vehicle, on a road that was about to be repaved, so driving over crappy ripped up ground, more or less felt like an earthquake. Thats my theory. Everybody else in the entire world happened to feel it. Scared the crap out of alot of people. This hurricane......not to worried about it.

Shitloads of rain...............

Lost power for going on two days, but I'm back now.

What a terrible mess around here really.
Trees down, roads blocked. Stores and everything closed for miles around.
A real buzzkill if there ever was one.

I have power now, and a few places near me got it within the last few hours, but mostly everything else near me is down and closed.

Though I agree with that most of the time, we did get hit hard with Irene last year. Basically even if we don't get smashed, I really hope to avoid power outages and property damages, which at least the power outages seems imminent.

Things are getting a little crazy here on the east coast. My office closed today and tomorrow because of this monstrosity. Very windy and rainy right now, but supposedly will worsen by this evening and overnight. I believe water levels have risen already and will continue to do so with high tide and more of this storm pushing through. Good luck to everyone!
