Thanks guys. Had to get that one off my chest anyway. :)

i have 'a few irons in the fire' as they say but we'll see what happens. I'm just annoyed at the fact I don't even get a response to an application. Curtesy dictates a thanks but no thanks response.

Woo! Top of the page! ;)

I'm an IT consultant specialising in a product called CA Clarity. If I can't get that kind of work (it's dried up), I can also work as an Oracle DBA.

We nhave a TV show here in the UK called The IT Crowd which sums up my professional life ;)

here's a sample...

Hehe -- but it wasn't on the way home from work; it was on the drive to work. But PtE is just as important....

LOL, nice notion but I only have a 15 minute commute so 4am would be quite a bit early for a 10am start.

Seriously. There's some high-pitched transmission they perceive that clogs up the roads.

Dude, if you're gonna drive a nice car, and it's a weekday, have the decency to put the pedal to the metal.

At least you actually get to fill out an application. I'm looking for part-time office work and I answer ads online, e-mailing out resumes and cover letters in the hopes of getting a response and have gotten ONE in about the past 4 months. Few ads even leave phone numbers anymore so you can't even get in touch with most of these people, you're just a name on a piece of paper most of the time.

My Mood: Whatever I want it to be
1 - People that stop in their lane on the freeway and try to back up because they missed their offramp. (Seems to be a trend I keep seeing lately.)

2 - People who know that they have made a bad decision or have done something really stupid and refuse to accept responsibility for their own actions.

3 - People who stop in doorways to accept a cell call then don't move out of the way. This goes hand in hand with people stopping as they pass each other in hallways to engage in conversation and block passage. Come on people, move to one side or the other.

4 - People who don't turn off their cell phone ringer and put their phone in vibrate mode before they go into meetings, apologize when the ringer goes off, but leave the ringer on after they take the call so 10 minutes later the scene repeats itself, and repeats itself...

5 - People who buy cheap knock-offs and complain that it - {The Real Product} - doesn't work as advertised. Spend the extra quarter and buy a clue - the product you bought is a cheap knock-off of the product you are bad mouthing.

6 - People who spritz themselves with cologne or perfume in a crowded elevator.

7 - Coincides with issue #1: People who stop traffic from the right lane to make a left turn or vice versa. The 1 thing I've learned in life is that their is always another corner ahead of you that you can turn at to get where you are going.

8 - People who can't understand that: "I don't know but I can find out and get back to you," is an acceptable answer. It's better to plead ignorance but express your willingness to seek the knowledge then accurately deliver information than it is to give a wrong answer just to answer the question.

9 - People who bring their children to public places {Restaurants, Stores, Movie Theaters, etc} and let them run amok and show no parental supervision or responsibility.

    10 - Expertus Vicarius: A person who always has a "friend" or "knows someone" who has the same talent, ability or experience as you - only better. Although the Expertus Vicarius has no personal knowledge or ability, they still believe they are more knowledgeable than you. {See also: 3rd Party Professional}

For Future Reference:

Should have had your top picks in queue. My computer whacked out too for a minute and the draft room reloaded. But thanks to having players in queue, the computer drafted who I intended on picking.

How about that - lemons into lemonade!

I did at certain points.
BUT- Several times my choices changed, with picks that went just before me.
I went about my whole strategy this year a bit more "blind" than previous years, and honestly knew very little about any league happenings and certain players in particular. I only paid a tiny bit of attention to it in the last week or so.

Later in the draft, is where my problems occured. Once, it was frozen, right as I was going down the list, and I did not realize it for a period of about 20 seconds. Only after actually clicking a couple of times, did I realize what had happened. Then my pick essentially "was over", and apparently when I was trying to click down the list, I happened upon Michael Bush, and the comp "recognized" I clicked it, and picked him up for me. (or either it just automatically picked him for me, thinking my time expired)

I'm not bitching, just saying thats how I ended up getting Michael Bush , as I had no plans on getting him otherwise. Something similar happened with Kyle Orton, but he was a possibility for me also, I just wanted him later if needed.
On another more interesting note- I almost DID NOT take Chris Johnson as my first pick, and tried another route.
I will start a thread in the next day or so concerning our draft where we can mention our thoughts on the draft, our teams, etc. etc.

I'll be sure to tell you who I *almost* picked up instead, in that coming thread.

I actually got lost at one point and didn't realize it was my turn to draft until about 35 seconds left. That's when I took Manningham with time running out. This was my first draft since the one other got sidetracked with the hurricane, rendering my team a complete computer pick. Though that team is interesting considering I didn't draft them or pre-rank at all. I'm just glad there's no money involved in that one. A few minutes from now my "alpha" draft takes place - the league I've been doing since 2005 (though there have been some managerial changes along the way), it's the larger money pot league so I'm hoping to score big this season. The inaugural season was the only time I placed (1st) and it was for no money. I've been paying out each year, and I will be paying out on baseball this season (at least I've won some cash from that in a prior season). So I need to try and rack up and take down both Gridiron 2011 and PtE 2011.

One of my biggest is something you're expected to be philosophical about - weather. I'm glad to say that I'm as philosophical about stupid-acting weather as I am about stupid-acting people (including myself). In other words, about as little as possible.

Often enough to piss me off. Maybe I didn't want to smell like White Diamonds that day? Maybe nobody else in the elevator did either? Commonsense - or at least courtesy - should give you a clue to not spray everyone in the car because you didn't have time to complete your hygiene before leaving the house. Here's a thought - wait to you get out of the elevator or before you go in.

I'm picking on the ladies mainly but I've had some inconsiderate men spray Boss, Gray Flannel, etc while they were in an elevator - I'm sure the ladies appreciated that too. Explain that to your husband and not get a, "Yeah ... right."

Speaking of people stopping in doorways to take a call or talk to someone, how about people that try to rush into an elevator before you have a chance to get off. It's common courtesy, before you get on an elevator, you have to let people get off of it. It's like that Louis CK bit where he says it's not just common courtesy, but also the people in the hallway have much more space than the ones in the elevator and you're invading what little space people have in the elevator, so let them out first.

Yep, another pet peeve of mine, Anthony. As of late, I find myself taking the stairs because they are rarely used anymore. I guess it's more socially acceptable to use the stair climber in the gym or spa than it is to actually climb real stairs.

The way that the mainstream Media subtely expresses their opinions under the guise of impartiality. Like Tuesday, when CNN debated the constitutionality of Obamacare on their "news" segment, yet the banner under the talking-head on screen read, "Obamacare Under Attack".

How about "Obamacare in the Court" or "Obamacare Debated"?!? But no..."Obamacare Under Attack". Under Attack? By who? Those who happen to have a different opinion than CNN?

I notice this sort of disguised suggestion all of the time. Even Fox News does it. But most of the time they limit their opinions to actual opinion-based shows. Not in the banner below the anchorman.

Am I alone in observing this?

This is just another distraction to keep people from thinking how Obama has wrecked the economy. Along with the Treyvon Martin shooting. Obama also wants the Supreme Court to strike down Obamacare before the election because he doesn't want a repeat of the 2010 Mid-Term elections. That's why he's asked for a quick hearing and is defending it so incompetently that's the overturn is now a foregone conclusion. It's all a Dog and Pony show by the media to keep the Muslim Marxist in the White House at the expense of the American people. AND THAT pisses me and all Americans off!

Nope, you are not alone. What used to be the news is now agenda propaganda. As pointed out in your post, the carefully phrased lead in is intended to unnecessarily excite or agitate the viewer. The news is no longer reported - it's created. With the invention of the 24 hour news outlet, when there is no news, you have to make it - or more aptly, make it up.

A sensational Headline is more remembered than the actual story. Count how many people will use the headline - "Obamacare is Under Attack" - but ask them about the actual story and they won't remember the details. It's the Harrison Bergeron Syndrome of reporting. Give the viewers 30 seconds and then blank their mind on the rest.

How about the fact that you used to be able to buy something that entertained you, like a TV, stereo, VCR, DVD player/recorder and it used to last you the rest of your life, but now they keep upgrading and coming out with new features to get you to buy something new every few years. Screw that, I'll find one I like and keep that, unless something really cool that I know I could use and enjoy comes along. Same thing with computers too, what's with this obsession to constantly upgrade programs every year? It's just annoying.

When people refuse to admit when they're wrong, even when the facts are in your favor and you prove it to them. But, more importantly, as a man, divorce laws. They're a double standard that almost always works against men. Bill Burr explains here further in his podcast:

People going over two weeks without electricity with no clear answers from LIPA about the power outages due to Hurricane Sandy. Then we get a Nor'easter with 6 inches of snow a week later. So the energy companies and Mother Nature lately have been pissing me off.

When you're on line at the supermarket and the person in front of you doesn't move up far enough for you to put your stuff on the conveyor belt until they're almost off the line. Doesn't give me enough time to get prepared to load my stuff up and pay for it. I just want to push them and yell "move the f$%^ up ALREADY!" but you can't do that , so you have to just slowly nudge yourself forward to get your stuff on the belt.

When people don't answer questions and avoid you. Just be mature enough to tell me you're either breaking up with me or don't want to be friends anymore and just say why. I CAN handle the truth.

When new laws are made to protect people from something and it ends up doing the exact opposite, like zero tolerance rules/laws, speed limits, red light cameras

Here in California, there's a new regulation or ordinance which forbids the use of plastic bags. In other words, when I returned to a couple of my local stores at the start of this year to do some grocery shopping, I was suddenly confronted by the fact that I wasn't going to get my groceries packed in plastic bags anymore; you bring your own or you buy a paper bag for 10 cents as a couple of new options. This was all done to curb or halt plastic litter.

Now I'm reading that this has caused another problem: more people entering emergency rooms or medical clinics due to stomach ailments; why? - because of (the theory is) build-up of bacteria in these bags that people now re-use over and over. Food in the bags gets contaminated. This is even linked to some deaths. Uh-oh, maybe someone didn't think things through..? :? (if I suddenly disappear from this board for a long time, there's a clue to the reason).

All of this affected me personally in an other unusual way: I do some shipping via selling stuff on eBay; many times, I would use - guess what - plastic bags to pack items so that the items are protected inside the boxes. The bags were free for me, a substitute for packing peanuts or foam. Now, no more plastic bags - all because some shortsighted bureaucracy has laid down another rule to control us all.

I had a brief discussion with my grocer about some of this yesterday (it had to be brief since there were people in line behind me). I was complaining about such endless restrictions in this state that soon you won't be able to do anything any more. My grocer's parting words to me, in a sarcastic tone - "Welcome to California." I drove away, pissed.

I'm reminded of a famous saying, which I alter to fit this situation:
"First they came for your plastic bags; then they came for your other stuff; then they came for you.. and turned you into a plastic bag."

Good Kapt, I am with you on the plastic bags, I was a cashier and always thought them better. Here is a link to
alot of sites that show why plastic is better than paper:
http://www.google.com/#hl=en&safe=off&t ... 66&bih=587

What I hate is DIVISION, we divide ourselves on SPORTS teams, fromGlobally to Nationally to Locally, I do not watch most sports programs,
and I do not understand the rivalries, I do not want to, haha. I do not want to feel uncomfortable going into my neighboring state due to my plates. We are all Americans, why the fued?

This happens on alot of stuff, mainly politics, I am indepedent, but I see people who are of different politics not getting along due to
it, NPR had a great piece on this, about Red State Blue State, its sad. I wish we could stop arguing, and attacking based on sports, politics,
religion,or lack there of, etc... And UNITE to better all of us, AMEN :D

Best Regards
Z

Thought of another one. When you try to look up an old friend on Facebook and you're not sure if it's them, because a bunch of people have the same name and none of the pages have PICTURES of the people on there. Why join Facebook if you're not going to bother posting anything on your wall or any pictures of yourself? What's this halfway, half ass shite? It's like dating someone and not having sex with them, non alcoholic beer or decaffeinated coffee, what's the point?

It then should be named ____BOOK for them instead. Where is the face? Yet, maybe they are shy to post their pictures, or they are not tech savvy enough to do this.
Yet, I see your frustration.

Also, when you're on line at the supermarket and the person in front of you won't move up far enough for you to put your stuff on the conveyor belt. Ah man, I just want to shove one of those people out of the way. Again, just common courtesy, give me enough room to put my stuff up so I can be ready when it's my turn on the line and I can hand my store card and pay for my order more quickly. Some people just don't know or don't care about keeping a line moving. :x
